I think WHL has been more stringent on handing out exceptional status.

Bobby Orr level good......because the numbers Dupont is posting are among the best for 15 year olds since Orr was tearing up the OHL.

Oh not comparing him at all....but as far as I
know, there hasnt been a 15YO major junior dman doing what Dupont is since #4 was wowing everyone in Oshawa.

72 pts in 56 games his 15yo season...as a defenseman is insane.

Dupont is not far off that.

It's kind of wild that so many of us were here pontificating the possibilities of his fathers future as a player.

Saw him play against the Vancouver Giants on Friday night.

He was consistently a foot or two out of position, looking like he was about to cheat for offence or pinch, which I’m sure is his habit. But every play, you could see him consciously choose the positionally responsible play, and not actually pinch or cheat for offence. Actively fighting those habits.

Very disciplined.

On the small side, and got muscled off of pucks a few times, but still one of the better looking players on the ice.

At 15.

Another Western Canadian that will get talked about with Exceptional Status next year is Maddox Schultz

https://calgaryherald.com/sports/spe...rcle-k-classic

Won tournament MVP as a 14yr old at the U18 Circle K tournament.

Plays for Regina Pata U18 AAA team currently.

Another 15 YO that scouts are really taking note of is a young man named Ossie McIntyre out of St. Albert.

He will be a main stay in Spokane next year.

I hate the name 'Circle K Classic.'

It sounds like a bland breakfast cereal.

We taking bets on Hockey Canada not inviting him to camp next year even if he's leading the WHL in scoring by D?

TMI think the amount of times his dad played for HC Spengler over the years should help.

So...would we be getting a discount on paint for the new arena?

You need a fresh coat of new material, this one's about 10 years out of date.
