I really don't get the Huberdeau / Kadri combo - they dont seem to compliment each other in any way.

You'd think trying Lindholm with Huberdeau again is worth a shot. But what do i know.

I’d go back to farming if I was Sutter.

Shovelling pig #### when it’s-40 would be better than coaching these jokers.

Great game by the Flames, probably best of the season, they had so many good chances and they did place their shots good but Ullmark was just better.

The ot lines are some of the stupidest stuff I have seen. You can’t seriously still think that Huby and Kadri have any sort of good chemistry, it’s clear that his elevated play is from Pelletier.

I want to call more attention to Kadris increasingly toxic on ice behavior. It's been steadily getting worse over the last 7 games or so.

What he did to Pelletier tonight was a prime example of a player thinking he is above the team. A good team mate would find the space for Pelletier to make a play him. Pretty easy to do there was a lot of it in the slot. But no, he steals the damned puck off Pelletier and goes for a skate and a quick transition back up the ice for Boston. There's easily been 5 or 6 other similar plays he's done very recently as well. On top of his very vocal and very open displeasure with his teammates, I'm finding this may be becoming a toxic work environment .

I get that MacKinnon may have rubbed off on him during their time in Col together but Naz, MacKinnon you are not. Be better.

I liked his game tonight, but you need your guys to make plays in OT. He hasn’t all season, and therefore his OT tonight can’t be defined as unlucky. Minimal game breaking plays from him this year.

As Flames fans we have all seen some s###

But I've never seen a Flames team more cursed than this one.

I don't see how they can come back with these two goalies in a tandem next year. It ain't working.

It's good to see Pelletier and Duehr looking good out there. Dube is playing good too.

Nobody talking about the reffing? Was at the game and it was some of the most biased I've seen.

Before the Backlund penalty a Boston player slashed Mangiapane after the play and his stick rode up and hit Mang in the face. It was a clear penalty, and the ref was looking right at it.

Boston was playing pre lockout interference rules on the Flames dump ins.

And they call that soft ass Backlund penalty.

Shootout is brutal too.
I don't know tonight's OT was worth its weight in gold. Had all the ups and downs of a playoff atmosphere and it was insane watching them go at each other.

His selfishness and inability to use his teammates is infuriating
He atleast to me appears to be the least committed player on this roster in terms of playing the system

He is far more of a concern for me than Huberdeau is.
They are both concerns, especially with their contracts. Huby has showed up about 5 games this year.

However, that entire list of yours above regarding Kadri has been a critique of his career, even back to his draft. A sense of tunnel vision with an inabiiity to use his teammates. Although, many mentioned his one on one skill.

This team isnt bad because Mercury is in retrograde or some nonsense, and its not just 'some luck' away from success.

They are where they are as a direct result of who they are.
Sure most of the games, but they seriously had the best game of the season here

Definitely felt like after Flames had a couple PP in a row the next one was going to be for the Bruins no matter what.
NHL reffing...what do you do

Maybe. Toffoli, Lindholm, Kadri, Dube, Mangiapane...they have guys that can finish.

I dont think they are an elite finishing team but they generate more than enough volume to overcome it.

This is coming into tonight:

I honestly don't think that the Medium Danger Shooting percentage being down 2.27% year over year is some indicator that the team lacks skill. Part of it skill, but luck is a big factor too.

Same thing with goaltending. Markstrom has taken a step back this year - but I don't think the 4% drop in medium danger save percentage is all him and Vladar declining either. (and ive probably been his most vocal detractor all season).

Im at the point where I almost just sit back and laugh.

The underlying shot rates are almost identical year over year. The team is still elite when it comes to advanced metrics and expected goal stats. Hell they ran the best team in the league out of the building tonight.

But there is just some bad voodoo around this team going back to last years playoffs. They almost got out goaltended by one of the greatest goalie performances ever in round 1 (and couldnt finish) and then their own goaltending turned into a pumpkin in round 2.

And now this year it just happens that the issue from each playoff round (finishing in round 1 , goaltending in round 2) have decided to stick around all year.

The hockey gods hate the Flames

Waive Vladar tomorrow, trade Hanifin for Jarry and the Penguins first or something tomorrow and keep trying.
