Just one of those seasons.

It's not an unlucky season. This team is badly lacking in two areas, goaltending and a lack of scoring snipers aside from Toffoli.

I’ll say it. I dislike Nazem Kadri.
He shows up every 6 or 7 games and mopes around when he’s not feeling it
His constant whining to the refs is embarrassing and does this team no favours with the officials
His selfishness and inability to use his teammates is infuriating
He atleast to me appears to be the least committed player on this roster in terms of playing the system
He is far more of a concern for me than Huberdeau is.

People are talking about 'Luck?'
Are you crazy?
After a while if the same thing keeps happening to you over and over and over again so reliably that you can practically set your watch to it, eventually have to consider the possibility that it is the result of actions as opposed to unknowable cosmic forces.
This team isnt bad because Mercury is in retrograde or some nonsense, and its not just 'some luck' away from success.
They are where they are as a direct result of who they are.

What is the sample size needed before we conclude the team is more than just unlucky.

I guess. If the worst that one of the Jets/Oilers go is 12-9, the Flames have to go 15-6 (.714 or a 117 point pace) to get in. Seems unlikely but possible I guess.

Awful attempt on the 2 on 1 and generally dumbfounding play making (or lack thereof) all season.

Does anyone else think 3 on 3 overtime is a gimmicky skills competition that wrecks the game?
What other sport changes its core rules so drastically?
Shootout is brutal too.

He was pretty good in OT as well. You picked out one blocked pass. He was making great passes all night

Curses are real and the Flames are cursed. Sold the soul to beat Oettinger and will be paying fir it for some time apparently.

The team had a heck of a game today. Goaltending let them down. Given where they are in the season, yes 2 points would have been ideal, but it is what it is.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE get rid of Hanifin. He has single handedly cost this team points.
IMO, he's as much to blame as our goaltending fiasco.

No one is saying sell everything. But I think the Flames should listen to offers and sell a few players if they get really good offers.

I'm out of thanks but totally agree. Just not enough high end talent to turn enough of their chances into goals. They are an elite group of pluggers saddled with two bums for goaltenders.

I agree, they've definitely had some terrible puck luck this year. That's just part of it though. If they had better goaltending and a more effective PP, they're probably in the mix for the division lead IMO.
