Karlsson at $7.5 mil has huge value IMO. Looks at what guys like him are getting. Stars have cap space to play with this year as well (tight next year) but they could squeeze him in at $7.5 mil no questions and I like their package better. Bouchard is the biggest name for the Oilers but if SJ is rebuilding for a few years, team control matters. Bouchard is young but he isn't far off UFA status and his value is very questionable especially since he is an RFA. There is a reason why Edmonton would include him in a deal at this point of his career. If his next deal was reasonable, they would have signed him already.

The thing about these additions, is that while Karlsson probably improves them overall, there's only one puck to carry. Draisaitl and McDavid like to carry the puck and that doesn't leave much for Karlsson

Jets are another team. Tons of cap, good team, can't attract UFAs. Lambert, Lucius, Salomonsson, Heinola are all good prospects. They could make a run with a guy like Karlsson.

This is a garbage offer, Barrie is a tire fire and won’t be able to put up points without Mavi or Pissy. Bouchard tops out as a second pair dman with below average skating ability who is an RFA and will put up 30 pts without Mavi and Pissy. Bourgault is going to be a tweener who will have a hard time cracking the league. Not exactly tearing up the AHL. Don’t even have to talk about JP.

This is the Flames equivalent of 2023 1st, Mackey, Zary, Kylington, Lucic.
