I only caught the 3rd period. I'm really not concerned though. People are freaking out which is fine, i got buddies messaging me losing their ####. I'm still not worried when it comes to making the playoffs, the cup chances i'm concerned.

Feel like we need more speed up front and its clearly a weak point. We are adequate to be a playoff team but to win a cup I think we need more speed that can create offensively and back check with tenacity.

The guys that are paid to put up points need to get it done. Seems to be that simple.

How many pacific teams are honestly getting anywhere near 100 points this season?

Vegas probably
Mighty Oilers are 1 game above .500 and lost one of their best players for 4 months
Seattle I can't see keeping it up
LA is okay but that seems unlikely
Ducks NO
Sharks NO

Calgary is one game below .500 with the hardest strength of schedule in the league...they certainly need to go on a run but aren't falling out of it as much as some people think. Bar is lower this season IMO.

They have efforts like tonight against average and bad teams especially when they get healthy and I think they will be fine.

I know everyone thinks they went wire to wire last season but they lost 17 of their first 34 games a year ago

I don't know about lacking depth at D. With 3 of their top 7 out they held Boston, the highest scoring team in the league, to a season low 5 HDCF at home and 2 goals. They might not be adding much offensively but the defensive depth was pretty impressive tonight.

I didn’t, even for a moment, think the Flames had anything really dangerous all night. Even with Toffoli and Mangiapane’s whiffs it just seemed like it was foregone.

They lost again. Playing better doesn't get you any points. It's going to be a long year.

I'm still pretty optimistic to be honest. I predicted before the season started that there would be some growing pains and inconsistency until chemistry does its thing. The quick start got my hopes a little higher, but now I am back to predicting a slow first half, and then a big second half of the season.

I expected that we will not be first in the division going into the playoffs, but we will be going in as a hot team in the second half, and that is still my expectation.

I said it to myself last year, to appreciate the season we were having because it doesn't happen that often.

But I wasn't expecting this much of a change this year.

Flames lose; usual CP suspects celebrate, others panic, yet others try to figure it out.

Zacha looked atrocious to me. Worst player on the ice for either team.

I thought the Krejci-Pastrnak tandem was good. Coleman looked great for Calgary. I liked Ruzicka and Ritchie. Mangiapane has to get better....it's been enough time now...

Excuses Excuses continue. Bottom line we are not getting it done and this doesn't look like a blip but a trend. Play hard get a bunch of shots no one works hard to get inside to score ugly goals and rely on Brett Ritchie and Trevor Lewis to get us a goal.

With Markstrom awful goaltending and Sutters bizzare coaching this team is going to disappoint massively. Last year we escaped injury and had career years for a bunch of guys. This year is the opposite.

Just not a good cohesive team.
Awesome. Can't wait to read what thirteen posts per day you have in store for us tomorrow.

Step off the ledge bud. Are we the team that went 5 - 1 beating colorado, edmonton, vegas, carolina and pittsburgh or the team thats lost what 7 in a row? Were probably somewhere in between. Facing a slew of on ice issues and ####ty injuries.

Either way we are way better off then last year, roster wise. I however agree Markstrom is a concern and Sutters bizarre deployment is head scratching. They'll figure it out though, i just hope playoff time we are better off.

Can Vladar play 60 games though?

Not sure many people think he is the answer. A guy like Rooney though should not be on any playoff team. Just an awful hockey player. Would way rather try a guy like Phillips for 5-10 games than have a guy who cannot play in the NHL play night in and night out. Rooney is a 45% guy on the dot though, so I guess there is that.

Reminds me of all the losing this team did in December and January of last year.

On the bright side, let’s get the losing over with in this bad stretch and hopefully this is the last bad stretch of the season. A lot can turn around with our next win. Confidence and belief are large parts of the game.
