They have the same amount of shots in the net from area as Boston at the opposite end of the ice in that graphic.
High Danger chances were 10-10 tonight.
They are 16th in High Danger chances per 60, and 31st in shooting percentage. They probably don’t deserve to be top 10 but they also shouldn’t be 31st.
Also not sure how they are earning their .882 save percentage which is 29th when they are still pretty stingy defensively (11th in xGA per 60)
Agree on Royal road passes though, this team lacked play makers before Huberdeau got hurt, it’s non-existent with him gone.

100% agree. It’s not like they’ve been terrible and have deserved a 7 game losing streak, they’ve been pretty good every game except for the game against Nashville.
At worst they should be 3-3-1 in the last 7, being 0-5-2 is completely just bad luck at this point.

In isolation this was a great game. A hard fought battle against one of the hottest teams in the league at home. Unfortunately as the 7th loss in the row it stings. It does feel like they'll never win again to be honest.

Yeah, Nashville was a stinker. No doubt about it. Funny it came to the worst team of the bunch.

Kadri is going to be a fan favourite, he has wheels, talent. IQ, a chip on his shoulder and loves the spotlight. He also looks like he's found that agitator fine line since his penalty riddled Toronto days.

Kadri is also pretty bad at defending. Once we figure out how to get the puck back as quick as possible without chasing so much we will be a better team.
It's crazy a Darryl Sutter coached team needs to improve so much in the defensive zone. Something is missing but we are a fire drill each time anyone has time in our zone.

A max of 138 points left to possibly win. Last year it was 97 points to get in, we currently have 12, meaning we need 85 to get in or a winning percentage of ~0.616 for the rest of the year as it stands now. Lose the next two that % goes up to .634
Last year we played the year at a clip of .677. To date I don’t think they have shown they are at that level so I do worry if this tough stretch lingers a bit too long, but the season definitely isn’t over yet and the team looks like it is close to turning the corner. It’s a tough stretch for fans because losing sucks and people can react how they want to a 7 game losing streak which is pretty bad in a nutshell. But it’s not over, and we will win again and likely based on PDO and other numbers this will be over soon and hopefully in our rear view mirrors.

Strength of schedule is a pretty big factor here...after November the Flames schedule is pretty soft overall

Silver linings, we're currently sitting in 8th in the 2023 mockdraft. Lined up to draft Brayden Yager a 6 foot Center from Moosejaw. Whats his story, future NHL star?

Keep Vladar in until he let's the first shot in. Then go back to Markstrom until he let's the first shot in. Vladar back in net in no time.

Guys and undersized AHLer is not the answer.
A healthy Huberdeau, Tanev and Kylington are.

Didn't the Flames have something like a 11 game losing streak the year they went to the Cup finals in 1986?
Maybe this is a good sign.

All those Toffoli haters can shove it. He’s been the most dangerous forward in my eyes. If he had elite finishing ability we would never stop talking about him.

The lack of creativity with the puck makes this a hard team to watch. I know Sutter prefers a defence first approach but last years team had much more goal scoring abilities. I guess that’s what happens when you subtract two 100 point plus players. Flames have a solid team but there isn’t that next gear with the forward group. Seems like a bunch of solid bottom 6 players with no top end talent (jury is still out on Huberdeau if he can find his game after coming back from injury). Only top 6 forward who’s been there since game 1 is kadri. Need more or this is going to be a long painful ride.

Vladar is playing very well and yet he hardly starts…again?
Eat bread and Dube look listless and so bad.
Lindy is clearly struggling with his confidence and there is no comfort level with his line mates.
Kadri looked exhausted most of the 3rd period and I get that he was trying to pick the perfect spot, but he was actually costing his team by continually missing the net… no rebounds or second chances.
Rasmus not shooting and all that time on the top PP is just wrong!
Ruzicka needs to play more in the top 6 as he has his best game going back a ways… let him build some confidence and the points will come as he definitely had some great chances tonight.
Depth at d or lack of it is really evident as they collectively did not add much to any offensive chances at even strength or the PP.
I agree that Phillips has earned a shot and could help get the top 6 going, but this team needs more finish and less plugs. Take Rooney, Lucic, and Lewis and play 1 of them.
So not entertaining hockey and the team is wearing that right now….ugly.

Dube is just not a 2nd line player no matter how much we want him to be. He over complicates everything. He's constantly trying to go through and around players and the plays just die on his stick. He needs to simplify his game a lot.

Vladar let in 5 the start before this. Maybe he earned some trust back but he wasn't standing on his head before.
