Moving Dube and Monahan plus an asset MAY be able to get a net win. If the team isnt going to improve though save it for the summer.

"trade him"
Well MAYBE in the summer you could pull it off, right now I highly doubt it. Believe it or not NHL GM's have also seen him play and the salary cap is a thing these days.
Who has 6.4M kicking around for Monahan this year and next? You could sit him for Richardson or Ritchie, he still counts against the cap though and I think he is still likely better than those two.
Right. Nice premise. I don’t see that in here at all. You literally state that it’s impossible to move him

maybe, just maybe, you are coming into a conversation 2+ pages deep and jumping in based on one post. At least you haven't mentioned you know who yet.
"cut him loose"
is easy to say...sure we could trade Gaudreau and Monahan for a 5th if we are just going to ignore the reality that a GM isn't going to hurt his 1st place team intentionally.
Realistically how do you move Monahan this season and improve the team though.
Besides like I said paying someone to take him isn't "cutting him loose" which was the original discussion. In the NHL with guaranteed contracts you can't cut players loose
Also I'm 55 so don't #### with me

Which team can afford to take on Monahan and his salary?

He won't answer. Hasn't answered the question yet.
This is a user that literally only shows up after something bad happens with the team, and only to spew negativity.

Also I'm officially done replying to your ramblings, Dion's one of the most upstanding, decent dudes on the site. There's only one guy around here tonight being a dick for no reason and it ain't Dion.

He's probably the guy that walks in to a bar looking for a fight and ends up getting his clock cleaned.

I’m not the one venting. You made a statement that the team should cut a player loose. People asked how that would be done and you admitted you don’t really know. In doing so you relied on your vast expertise through somewhat lesser years than some people here (why age is relevant I’m not sure) and your experience cheering for Jean Pronovost and Gary Unger. Weird flex.

Two back to back losses to two bad teams . And they were outplayed in both games. The six game winning streak was an anomaly. They are who we thought they were !

I'll be happy to meet you at any bar to clean my clock . Calgary or Edmonton?
You guys get so serious about what I'm trying to tell you . This team is so good . They need a couple minor tweaks . Monahan is done . Dube is done . That's it .
See you on the other side

your track record on hot takes isn't very good...see above
everyone knows Monahan is overpaid and not long for the team beyond this season. Its almost impossible to move on from him while improving the team right now though. Maybe put your hearing aids in and listen instead of saying the same things over and over.
