Well MAYBE in the summer you could pull it off, right now I highly doubt it. Believe it or not NHL GM's have also seen him play and the salary cap is a thing these days.
Who has 6.4M kicking around for Monahan this year and next? You could sit him for Richardson or Ritchie, he still counts against the cap though and I think he is still likely better than those two.

Ie: mony + 2023 2nd (if we still have it) for future considerations

I'm so spoiled by this team now that I was sad for a bit at the end of the game and wondered why they'd lose, but then I remembered that they're actually a very good team and fun to watch and they've crushed basically everyone for 2 straight months and now suddenly I don't feel as sad anymore!

wouldn't do that unless you have a home run use for that cap space immediately...and paying a decent asset to unload him is a far cry from "cutting him loose" IMO
seems almost certain its a summer move
If you are paying to get rid of Monahan so you can put Ritchie in the lineup it seems like a poor move.

problem is you haven't given actual suggestions of how to do it and IMPROVE the team
Anyone here would "cut" Lucic and Monahan at their current price tags if possible...thing is its not
Monahan on the 4th line isn't going to make or break the team

Not sure how trading Monahan would go in the room. I think this team has what it takes to go far with him. Lucic will be super valuable in the playoffs.

well the premise was to do it and improve the team right now...otherwise why do it.
Moving Dube and Monahan plus an asset MAY be able to get a net win. If the team isnt going to improve though save it for the summer.
