Pitlick’s best year was playing with Faksa and Roussel. So he doesn’t need huge minutes or top linemates to make a difference.
He also had a good year in Edmonton playing with… Milan Lucic.

Meh. Just a continuation of the endless cycle of deficit spending. We don't have bottom 6 players filling in our roster on cheap deals on a continuous basis because we trade picks that would turn into those players for bottom 6 players to fill in our roster. It has worked so well so far, so why stop now. But, there is a PLAN - of that I am sure. The PLAN involves the PROCESS. All is well.

I mean they kinda tried that last year and it didn't work out so well.
I'm not a fan of giving up a pick though for this type of player.
4th/5th - good with it
3rd - don't love it but can live with it
2nd - hate it. HATE it.

2022 4th rounder is a pretty small price to pay if this is the player you like rather than trying to find someone similar in UFA.

Well, it is what it is. Don't agree with spending picks on depth players like this anymore, but at least we get him for a full season and not just 20 games.
I know a lot of us are saying "there are players like this in free agency"...and there are, but are there any of them as good as Pitlick willing to sign only a 1-year deal?
