One thing that is the biggest flaw this team had in years is not trying to make the young forwards better defensively by relying on them and building defensive awareness on the PK.

Marner (all the time) and Matthews kill penalties in Toronto.

No reason why Monahan, Bennett, Gaudreau, and Tkachuk shouldn’t have been coached to be PK options prior to Sutter.

PK is all about sticks and smarts and hustle, not physicality, so I agree.
