It's like he think he was hot kyit after that OT goal against the Preds. Never the same after all the praise and highlight of the night replays it got.

The problem is we don't have a real game breaker like McLovin and Saddlesore.

I agree in the offensive zone he needs help but in the defensive zone his line mates constantly have to chase the puck after he refuses to go into the corner to retrieve the puck. He isn’t as easy as some suggest to play with

I really think Leivo as RW with Johnny and Monny just sewered the line. Leivo was absolutely invisible out there. Criticism against Johnny and Monny is fair but I feel like they’re playing shorthanded 90% of their shifts. Either get a top end RW or put Lindholm there and move on already.

Yep. It doesn't even need to be a McDavid level guy. Let's just see a #1C that can put the team on his back and win games by himself once in a while. Has Monahan ever done that? I'd me more than happy with someone like on that Barzal, Point, Scheifele, level..

I believe that Sutter is the one who will help Bennett to find his place in the game and help restore his confidence. We're not going to get any good returns in a trade so we may as well get him on the right track.

This pretty much says it all.

Amazing first 15 minutes followed by meh back and forth hockey for the next 30, followed by Oilers domination for the last 15.

Sutter will not allow this type of unacceptable inconsistency.

Can't wait for him to come in, implement his systems, and most importantly, mould the players' mindset to the way it needs to be.

Going to take a few weeks I'm sure, but I'm dying for some Sutter hockey.

Markstrom looked a bit shaky early on, but he can't be blamed for the loss at all. The tying and winning goals were not at all the result of him doing less than he ought to be.

I still have hope for what Sutter can bring, but i can't help but feel like this team is sorely lacking a "game breaker".

If we could get Hall for the remainder of the season without disrupting our roster and prospects all that much, I feel like that could be a game changer.

especially because playing in buffalo is like being presses through the devils playdough maker right now.

I'd say overall the Oilers have a much larger fanbase than the Flames. It's not even close. Mostly due to the Gretzky era and now having the new best player in the world. Canada wide

Oilers and relying on a lottery rather than working for something the right way... the jokes write themselves

Natural stat trick at High Danger chances 10-6 for the flames. No doubt Flames have work to do but I thought they deserved better tonight.

That’s a good point. But when you think about the tier below (sheiffle, Pasternak, Marchand, barkov, Tarasenko, horvat, petersson, eichel, kucherov, point, stamkos, stone, paccieretty, etc, etc), I think it’s absolutely fair to consider the flames to be one of the worst teams when it comes to forward game breakers in the league.

Not saying you need a McDavid level "generational" player, but someone considered a star center who can drive the play from the position. We haven't had that.

Exactly. We've been missing a guy like that for too long.
