I mean scrap the points entirely...points percentage as the actual standings. Makes more sense and gives a better idea with different amounts of games played

Edmonton fans questioning if McDavid is the one blocking the reformation of the Nuge-Drai-Yamamoto line. I am hoping this type of story picks up steam. It is stuff like that which will lead to the trade request we all want.
I would almost guarantee this is the case.
I don’t think it’s a coincidence that once McDavid came back from injury RNH has been stapled to McDavids wing and the coach hasn’t put RnH back with Draisaitl and Yamamoto.
I mean scrap the points entirely...points percentage as the actual standings. Makes more sense and gives a better idea with different amounts of games played
It's just hard to ascertain what you need to do to catch up or keep a lead. Baseball has the games behind column which is cool, but of course NHL can't really do that because they don't want OT games to have a loser.

Its irrelevant though anyway because the uneven games...Edmonton and TO played their 4th game tonight, Calgary plays their 4th game on Sunday
The salt is flowing freely on Twitter right now regarding Myers' punch on Tkachuk.
The crazier part is they are complaining that Monahan embellished the Pettersson slash.
He barely raised his hand to his face, after he got a hard slash across the chest/shoulder. Do that to a Sedin and they would have been karted off the ice.

Just stop. This conversation is soooooooooooo stale. The pre-game thread got polluted by this topic and here you are bleating about it again.
It's. Not. That. Interesting. the 100th time.

I keep smashing my crystal balls, because they keep predicting bad losses - and they’re right. I need one that’s wrong! Hoping this one (it’s predicting a 6-1 loss tonight) is a loser. It’s got a big, ugly blue Maple Leaf on it, so my hopes are high.
It’s Miller Time

Scary how seemingly reliant we are on JT Miller. I would expect him to be pretty rusty to start off.

MILLER TIME !!!
Great news!
Quote:
Jake being bumped back down to the bottom 6 makes Miller’s return worth it alone. It’s been painful watching him play on the top line.
Quote:
Am I the only one who thinks getting Miller back isn’t gonna change things much?
I mean he’s our most important forward I get that.
But one guy can’t fix a whole team.

Should definitely win with Miller

We made Calgary a lot better.
We should be proud.

The more i watch this game, the angrier i got. Seriously, who in the right mind let Markstrom and Tanev go?
On a positive note, Virtanen scores! (For some reason, no body mentioned this)
Quote:
Last years mvp is in Calgary don’t get it twisted.
Quote:
The only reason the flames are still in it is because of marky. How many times have we said that over the years?
Quote:
Flames and Markstrom both extremely lucky this period
(I still can't consider Markstrom part of the Flames just yet, maybe it'll hit me in year 3 lol)
Quote:
I wish Markstrom went to Carolina or another team.

If Elias Lindholm hadnt been part of the Hanifin trade he probably would have

Tanev a beast on the PK for the Flames here . Hurts man…
Quote:
Tanev was a warrior for us and really was a key player on our PK and you can tell we miss him. Guy did everything he could to get into a shooting lane. We need someone to replace what he brought.
Quote:
Freakin Tanev launched the counter attack so fast.
Quote:
Seeing Tanev in a Flames jersey makes me ####ing nauseous

Markstroms departure is just showing how much the team was carried by him

Marky, in the nicest way, go #### off

Same thing as in the playoffs. Canucks play 1 good period and then fall off hard.
Quote:
Oh come on.
We can’t get the damn puck out of our own zone

Canucks still think that a game is 20 minutes long I see
Quote:
I used to hate these kinds of games where you're playing decent and in the right places, but you don't actually stop anything because of deflections, blocks, etc.
Really hard to get into a rhythm. Demko hasn't had to do much since I started watching in the 2nd.
Quote:
Ah crap, bad habits cost a goal. Gotta look at it again but one thing that happens when you use post integration too early is you start being passive...you think you have everything covered but because you do it too often you're not really paying attention to whether you have the net covered.

Again, flukey bounce and because you're not feeling the puck all that much you're not quite on top of your game. Kind of pointless to try to block when the guy is in the slot, but he probably got surprised that the bounce was that bad.
Quote:
OH NO. WE SUCK AGAIN!!

Shots what 20-1 this period?
team is garbage
Quote:
This is just really embarrassing. How do they come out with this level of effort and carry that #### for a whole period? Disgusting.
Quote:
I think the canucks now lead the league in goals against in the last 10 seconds of a period
Quote:
So in 2 out of 3 games we've given up a goal with 2 seconds or less left in a period? Not a good look.
Can't wait til Benning is canned.

I hate that Tkatchuk #### but Myers can't be punching a dude in the face after the whistle, especially while already on the PK.
Petey whacking a dude like that, too. Very obviously in front of the ref.

I’d worry about Tkachuk hitting his head on the bottom of the pool with that dive but I don’t think anything is in there.

But actually I'm not even disappointed, I'm conditioned to expect this. I don't even feel anything anymore. I don't think it's pessimism when there's 30 years of data to back it up.

Calgary: gets ass kicked for 20 minutes, makes necessary adjustments and team comes out for a much stronger and high energy effort
Vancouver: gets ass kicked for 20 minutes, comes out lethargic and does pretty much the Same thing

This is literally like the ####ing Vegas series. Talking heads who didn't watch the games see it went to 7 games and think we put up a decent fight have no idea. We defend for a full shift and a half in our own zone, get tired, dump it into Calgary ice, rinse and repeat. We can't breakout cleanly and we can't string two passes together. Ridiculous.

Every time theCanucks play a good period I fully expect them to get dominated the next one. I know some of that is the other team but it would be nice if we could play more than one good period in a row

We are legitimately actually fighting with Edmonton for the title of 5th best in Canada. I had hope Montreal was all hype but seeing them now it doesn’t seem to be the case. Canucks are just too inconsistent, once the bad contracts are done with then we will be a legitimate playoff contender. We should lower our expectations with the team so we aren’t disappointed with outcomes like today. Just not good enough yet.

Wow look at the canucks bench
what a bunch of worn out sad sacks they look like. Is there a coaching problem?

I got to ask one question . Do the Oilers finish with more or less points then Ottawa ? Honestly Ottawa has looked better

#Flames have six PPG through their first three games of the season (Gaudreau, Monahan, Dube, Tkachuk, Lindholm, Giordano).
Per
@SNstats
, that’s the most through three games since 1992 when they had eight (Nieuwendyk x2, MacInnis x2, Reichel, Makarov, Wilson, Roberts).
