For the record the number of playoff games the frog has watched this series is zero as I have been watching them at my gf's place and some have been day games when he sleeps. That ends tonight! I will be home with him perched in his favorite spot! Time to unleash the power of the frog!

Which explains Bennett's success in the playoffs. He bangs in dirty goals around the crease, which is where goals are scored in the playoffs.

If a team is going to overload on the pinch you have to catch them on it, and then they'll lay off.

Continue doing what you're doing and they'll just get blood thirsty.
This is my concern with this coaching staff (and lets be serious it's the same staff with or without Peters).

We've had back to back playoffs where a big, quicker team was able to completely disrupt our breakout and make us play on the back foot with a strong forecheck.

And in both series not a single adjustment was made to our breakout to try to slow down their forecheck. The same d to d pass with the forward trying to chip the puck out to the neutral zone, resulting in either a turnover at the blueline, or the other team regaining possession in the netural zone and just coming right back in.

That's honestly my biggest concern with the coaching staff is that we haven't had a plan to counter a strong forecheck.

Watched 2 games w my Backlund jersey on and we won. Its been so hot I haven't wanted to wear it. Selfish! Will also be flying my Flames flag in Victoria today.

Backlund jersey will be on again tonight.

Must sacrifice for the boys.

I just want Lucic to line up for the opening faceoff against Benn and say "You know you're going to fuquing die tonight, eh?" followed by making him answer the bell when the puck drops.

I resent this- when I became a red sox fan they hadn't won a title in 100 years
Though I only chose them to piss off my friend who was a Yankees fan and wouldn't hear of anything else.

2004 was an excellent year for gloating.

It's a minor point, but I think that the performance of teams in the Round Robin is completely irrelevant as it pertains to what is occurring in Round One. It seems patently obvious in retrospect that Boston and Dallas in particular were coasting on autopilot for all of the first ten days of August.

If we lose, at least punish the Stars enough to tenderize them so they get embarrassed by Vegas next round. All I ask is this Flames team not go out in a whimper.

Coaches, systems, whatever..........this team just isn't good enough to compete with the big boys in the league. But that's a discussion for another day. Lots to change with this team in the near future if they want to seriously compete for the Cup. Just hoping the best/higher paid players on the team step up tonight and give us at least one more game to watch this season.

Put up or shut up time. I echo the sentiment that if this group can’t advance past round one, major changes need to be made. Doesn’t have to be a tear down rebuild but definitely a retool with some new faces. Everyone not named Tkachuk, Andersson, Valimaki and possibly Dube & Mangiapane are fair game.

Biggest game of the year and I don't know if I will be able to watch (am at a vineyard for a trip planned with the wife). Hopefully I can catch the latter half of the game.

I have no real prediction for tonight. If the flames can get a goal or two lead early, they are likely to fall asleep and let the stars do their best to claw away and steal the win. Or if the stars score first, the flames will panic and let the game get away from them.

Gaudreau, monahan, Giordano aren't magically figuring out how to play in big games all of a sudden tonight, an elimination game. It's unfair to even expect such a dramatic revolutionary progression over night.

It's surreal to think this could be the last time we see this group together. As such, as much as I'd love for them to come back and win the series, I've also come to terms that losing and moving on from this core is so much better mid/long term for flames fans.

So, for perhaps for the last time for what has been a beyond frustrating year.... Go flames go.

This is a huge game for Coach Ward.

I hope that for his sake, the Flames win.

Like others, my expectation based on a life of Flames fandom and how this year has gone is them playing a solid all-around game today taking the series to Game 7 and refreshing some hope, only to completely no-show Game 7 and get pumped out of the building in embarrassing and demoralizing fashion. Not dissimilar to the 2008 series against the Sharks, of which (a young) Pavelski was also involved.

Correct me if I am wrong but Vegas will be playing the winner of Vancouver/STL. Colorado will play Dallas.

Regardless of opponent next round, the way everyone has been playing, the west final is Vegas & Colorado. I'd bet the farm

You're right, I keep thinking Colorado is the 1st seed, but it's Vegas.

More potential eyes on broadcasts
