Nope the right play there is to put it in the corner. Trying to skate it out from that position would create a turnover in a high danger zone
But keep grinding that axe man. Griiiiiiind that axe!

It doesn't happen nearly as often as making goalies look really bad. Domingue was excellent tonight.

Your head would explode in the alternate universe where any player tried that, turned it over and got scored on.

Pvr’d the game and just finished watching.
I feel like I just went through a damn gauntlet after that OT and shootout! I’m exhausted. What a game!!!
And how do we have so much skill on this team, yet no one can score in the shootout? BSD did his job to say the least

It's one thing to be mad about the shootout, the existence of which is not the Flames' fault.
But dudes, the Flames are at the top of the West. There is nothing to be afraid or ashamed of right now.

I mean Monahan had two consecutive shots all alone in front in OT, the first with Domingue sprawling across after a one touch dish across from Gaudreau and the rebound goes right back to his stick with net open and Domingue stops it again.
With how many games that guy has ended that was probably the closest to the game right there.

Peters is a great coach.

Agree totally... Peters decision wasn't solely about winning the game; the use of Neal was Peters telling him, "as a staff and organization we still believe in you".
it wasn't a shootout vs TB decision, it was an February/March decision.
great move by Peters. Hopefully Neal gets his game together, because the Flames would be a very, very dangerous team if Neal regains his touch. Peters knows this and is trying to jump start him.

I was at the game tonight. Now, it may be because I was sitting in the Press Level, but I cannot say I heard or saw James Neal whine tonight. Perhaps I need an eye test. Or perhaps I don't know hockey that well. Idk why you need to know hockey to be able to tell if someone is whining, but...?

Tampa got great goaltending and also got lucky on the go ahead goal. In OT again great goaltending the Flames play like that every OT they will rarely lose.

Glad to see cooler heads prevailing after this loss, however, I am not one of them.
I am very irritated as we had so many opportunities to win it in the third period (wtf, Brodie shoot the puck), OT (Domingue with amazing saves) and shootout (someone shoot the puck!).

Even with a few losses it still feels like Rittich is playing really well. Hopefully he gets a few good results soon.
