This year I had the pleasure of watching my son load his gear and get on the bus for road trips with his minor midget team, and I thought about he seemed to have progressed a million miles from where he started in novice 6.
The next time he gets on the bus, I will pray that they have a safe trip.
I guess all I can think of is that these broncos teammates are together, and today they tossed their sticks in and were able to get a game going.......

This is awful, reports of multiple fatalities..... Unbelievable. One player from Lethbridge on the team, have watched him for years, talked to his Dad in Safeway on Good Friday saying he just got accepted to the U of L. Praying for his safety.

This is so horrible.
I played rugby with the father and honestly this is just devastating. It’s obviously a sad and tragic event to begin with, but the connection just makes it that much worse. The father is just such a kind hearted and nice guy, that I feel so bad for him and his family. He is one of the nicest guys you could ever meet and has done so much for the community and youth in Lethbridge in general.
Like everyone here, I'm struggling with what happened. I don't have a son in hockey, but in varsity baseball, and he travels by bus around western Canada and into the US. I never really thought about safety for him and his teammates as they travel in coaches with a professional driver. Now I'll always think about it when he travels. He told me today that he and some of his teammates were talking about what happened to the Broncos and how this could happen to them. So very very sad.
Not saying anything about who had the stop sign, just that the carnage looked like the bus hit the semi.
An investigating officer messaged this to a good friend and he shared it with me, I doubt anything is a secret so i'll post what is known so far.

"A semi B-Train flatbed truck hauling peat moss from Carrot River was traveling west on 335 and ran a flashing red stop sign at HWY 35, The bus traveling north had no way to avoid the 85 ft long semi truck and collided just behind the tractor unit with the main trailer."
Damn, that flatbed would have cut threw that bus like a knife threw butter also after looking at a map of the area I would think that truck would have wanted to turn south on hwy 35 as going straight on 335 would have lead him to nowhere. medical event or just doused off is my guess

What a great piece of work by Roger Millions in front of the Humbolt arena. Looks like he’s the only journalist on the ground. No maudlin bs, just a workman’s description of what’s going on in the community and what to expect tomorrow at the service.

This has hit me hard, I feel for the families and survivors, a few years ago I lost my two young nephews and brother in-law, in a collision with a semi-truck, and I also recently was involved in a bad accident. Every day you still live with it, wide range of emotions, sometimes emptiness, and holding on to my memories of them, and times you just have to let it out and cry...

I can't imagine the nightmare they are living in right now and the sadness they will have to endure for the rest of their lives. May they somehow find peace and comfort one day. The whole country mourns for you.

I figured out today the coach was a guy that went to the same small town Sask college at the same time as me. Probably talked to him a couple of times. I have a a couple Facebook friends that were closer to him or his wife.
I had been remarking how many people seem to know someone involved. Never thought it would be as close to me as I thought.
Such a tragedy. Thoughts and prayers. Hard to avoid getting emotional thinking about it.
I just wanted to say how wonderful it is to see how humble and genuine you guys express your feelings when tragic events like these occur.
I can only imagine how comforting and encouraging it must be for the families and loved ones of the victims, but also for those who survived. Now and over time.
You can be proud of that unity.
I wish all those involved all the best and strenght.

He did a very good job. I think a CTV journalist (John Vennavally-Rao) was in Humboldt. Sandie Renaldo mentioned on the CTV newscast that Lisa Laflamme will be in Humboldt for the Sunday night newscast.
Location: A simple man leading a complicated life....
