Also in previous games, every time the 4th line was on, they got hemmed in for extended period of time. Does GG watch game film at all?

On a positive note, Gaudreau is now tied for second in points and only two behind Stamkos for first!
Also, Monahan is now tied for fourth in goals, only one behind 2nd and three behind first.
That top line has truly been elite this season.

He was one of the flames top 5 players tonight. Struggled this year for certain but he's been better of late, and had a decent bounce back tonight after the last game.

I am scared of how good Johnny Gaudreau has been.
How the heck the a 4th round pick turn into this?

I really don't know if it's rose colored glasses, but i don't see how people can't see how terrible Dougie Hamilton is. Every game it's the same thing, dumb turnover after dumb decision. Most of the time it doesn't get noticed because Giordano is bailing him out with a great defensive play.
All this talk about trading Brodie is dumb, Hamilton is the one they should be trading while his value is still high.

Come on now, what was he supposed to do? Consider the following:
- 3M line doesn't show up to play
- 4th line can't score
- 3rd line is snakebitten, cursed, hexed and jinxed all at once
- Dougie left his brain behind in Columbus
- Brodie/Hamonic are too busy feeling sorry for themselves to play defence
- Kulak/Stone can't make a simple play/decision

Rittich be afraid be very very afraid. I would be extremely surprised if we came out with a win tommorow night with our back up after this piss poor performance from our defence. I'm still choked after watching another piss poor performance by our so called elite defensive core.

Not defending the d but the fifth goal was 100% on Versteeg and his complete flyby of Stone’s attempt to clear off the boards. Go watch it again....just brutal.

our fourth line is complete junk. versteeg is the only one who can make or take a pass and get open and he's way too old and slow to push the play up the ice by himself. i would much rather see mangiapane/hrivik/hathaway over any combination of stajan/f hamilton/lazar/brouwer. they can't be worse at this point.
i don't understand how a defensive group that looked at least competent during most of last year can suddenly forget how to do everything and break down so thoroughly with a tiny hint of pressure, especially with a supposed upgrade in hamonic.
the first line bailed them out 4 times and they couldn't hold a lead. 3M line could have been better too, but this is mainly on the defense outside of giordano, and on gulutzan for playing the 4th line mercilessly in the third at key moments

Calling a timeout would be a start. This game was winnable even with the horrendous play from the likes of Dougie.

Hamilton is just dumb, Brodie seems really uncomfortable on the left side and since the Hartley era, the forwards on this team are leaving the zone way too early and not providing enough puck support for the defense.
The only forward who should be "cheating" is Gaudreau. No other forward should be leaving the defensive zone early. A good offense starts in the defensive zone.

Johnny gave the puck up in the 3rd in the neutral zone but battled and nullified the play. When Dougie loses the puck he just quits. Lazy AF.

Still think the refs played a huge role in tonight’s outcome by inconsistent calls/non calls.

Was at the game tonight. First time seeing Mike Smith in person. Seems like he really messed up the D a lot playing the puck. On more than a few occasions, he held onto the puck for too long and then he dumps it off to a D in the corner who already had pressure on him. Led to a bunch of turnovers tonight.
