Should have let him loose from game 1.
I think he hurt himself vs. L.A. and just hasn't recovered yet.

True. Easy to forget he's a rookie.

Agreed he's hit a wall but Tkachuk played a tonne of hockey last season. Between the OHL regular season, playoffs, memorial cup and world juniors he played 86 games. Still more then then 79 he's hit this year.

may also have to do with the type of minutes he's been playing.

Backs line has been getting the heavy lifting all year.

Not easy at the best of times, but for a rookie...

I went to one playoff game in 2015 and it was the semis where we beat the Ducks in OT. I'm going tonight with the same person. Consider that a good omen. GFG

No issue with the changes. Stajan is always a warrior but Lazar and Hamilton can do everything he can and likely have more in the tank.

Bouma can hit hard but also miss hard and even after a big hit, he usually loses the victim unless he's knocked him down. The offense has disappeared completely and the pointmen don't shoot the puck at him anymore. He is also a terrible board player. Lazar and Hamilton won't hit as hard as Bouma, but they will hit and stick and battle for the puck.

As for Elliot, had to go with him, but i'm sure if he's shaky, Captain Hook will be right there. Everyone talks about the Flames record at the Honda Centre, but Elliot's record against the Ducks is equally scary. Law of averages says things have to even out eventually right?

Game 4 - crush them, plant the seed of doubt
Game 5 - shock them, end the curse
Game 6 - come out flying, cause the panic to set in
Game 7 - take our rightful place, put the nail in their coffin

Calgary has been right there with the ducks for the first three games...

with the obvious exception of the goalie, (yeah, yeah, i know kinda important)...

but that said its far different than those who were saying "we don't even belong on the same ice" or "anaheim is in a different league"...

if we come out with a consistent, game long effort, like the first two periods of last game, we ought to be able to take it...

go hard at the net, throw the goalie off his game, be hard on zone exit passes and, for the love of god, don't go into a shell with 10 min left in the game if you have the lead.

Go Flames Go!

Problem with replacing Bartkowski, who has been terrible, is there are no other options. You can't afford to put Wideman's slow footspeed out there, and you just know he will be the victim of a borderline call (or three).

The fact that we have no other blueliners who have taken a regular turn this year is a fault that has been a long time coming. Next year we have to start getting some reps from the Kulaks, Anderssons, and Wotherspoons (?) of the world. We can't keep patching the bottom pairing hole with run of the mill vets and wondering why we can't develop a defenceman -- because we never play them!!

Anyway, off topic.

I think Lazar's goofy grin and speed could really get under Perry's and Kesler's skin over the course of a two or three games.

Let's hope he gets the chance.

Please win this one. Then game 5 would be on my birthday and it would be the best birthday gift ever if the ended the Honda Center curse.

Bennett still owes me a 5 goal game at the Honda Center. I'll take it Friday, thanks.

I can think of better, but that one is pretty good.

Glad Stajan is sitting, he has been pretty bad on the dot and very underwhelming overall this series.

I'm sure Lazar and Freddie will be motoring around finishing every check.

My friend started a great idea of sending positive buzz to the players on twitters. Imagine the power that would come with flooding their feeds with positive messages.

I beleive!

One game at a time. Just win tonight, and then anything is possible after that. I'm very nervous about Elliott tonight. I'm praying that he can have a strong bounce-back game and shut the door, otherwise we're toast.

Unless the NHL is playing game 4 with a beach ball, the flames are totally buggered.
