Every time I read the ATL report and get to the Oilers section, I'm reminded back to the day when I was coaching the Rage.
And the players were complaining about the level of smack talk coming from the Edmonton franchise. They took a great deal of joy in talking about how lousy we were, and how they were so much better (Which really wasn't true)
So I gathered the players around. I told them that I was completely aware of their team, and how good they thought they were and how they thought they were going to roll over us. And my honest to god reaction was simple
$$$$ those guys

The Flames now have as many wins as they had all of last season, and are only three points back of their final total last year.
Backlund is now tied in assists, and one goal back of his career highs from last season.

Because it was "Western Night". The music is usually downbeat and the crowd quiet. I haven't been an STH for a couple of years now since moving to BC, but that was my recollection always of the night at the 'Dome. I think I saw a lot of losses on Western Nights.
