I could see Scott clearing waivers and the NHL using that as an excuse to not have him actually technically eligible for the All Star Game. The default Pacific captain would become Johnny if he stays in 2nd if that were to happen, I would assume.

Gaudreau would likely have been captain if not for Scott. He was 2nd in votes for the Pacific division as of last night.

Sweet, Johnny misses out because of stupidity. Any chance of me tuning in is gone as I don't have any desire to watch a lumbering embarrassment like Scott share the ice with Gaudreau in what is supposed to be an star game. Hopefully he just skips it to prepare and rest up for the second half.

It's an all-star game. Why does it ruin your watching experience if Johnny is a captain or not?! No one will remember who were the captains a month after the game. Last year, Johnny was a last second addition to the all-star team due to injuries. While he was having a good year, there were some players even more deserving to be there but weren't called because they simply pulled up rookies from the Young Guns event. So it all balances out...and I'm sure Johnny would choose an all-star appearance last year over being an assistant captain this year 5 times out of 5.

I don't want to watch it because Scott will be there, not because he's the captain. If I wanted to watch someone dragging down Johnny, I would just watch Hudler this year.

The fact Scott is a captain is just the icing on a stupid cake.

First of all I really don't get why fans vote in players like Scott . The All Star game is about skill and John Scott is far from a skilled player and not someone I'd wanna see at an event like this. I remember the days when only All Stars would play in the All Star game and that's the way it should be. Secondly the league should only allow actual "Star" players to be nominated to stop this shenanigans as I think it tarnishes the reputation of the league.

Yeah it would have been cool to see Johnny playing with other star players for once. Instead I'm just left hoping that Scott doesn't accidently injure him or something. It's going to be 2 v 3 for Johnny's team. Just dumb.
