9 would do it too, probably 8. Almost impossible not to throw a OT/SO point out two in there somewhere

I just really hope we can go 15-0 after the inevitable loss to the ducks tonight. Please. That would be so nice.

Hey if we bank on a loss tonight & lose, we aren't crushed.
If we bank on a win and win, well then we're a bunch of happy campers.
I'm banking on a loss. Although we are playing at home so we have a chance. If it was at the Honda Center, may as well watch basketball.

There is never a reason to watch basketball.

The red snake has returned to the good size of the black snake! After going 4-0-1 in the last five games the Flames are 0.561 points ahead of the pace. Calgary needs 17 points in the remaining 15 games (0.567 points percentage) to reach 96 points. If Calgary wins the next two games (Friday vs. Toronto, Saturday at Colorado) that would put them at 83 points with 13 games remaining. That means they could go 0.500 the rest of the season to hit 96 points. To put these numbers in perspective a 96 point pace over 82 games is a 0.585 points percentage.
In other good news the Oilers have officially been eliminated. If they go 15-0-0 the rest of the season, they can tie Calgary's point total from last year. This means that even though Calgary had a dreadful season last year, resulting in Sam Bennett, at not one point was Edmonton ahead of Calgary's 2013-14 points. As mentioned before, after game 17 they were both tied with 14. Calgary went on to get a loser point in game 18 while Edmonton lost games 18-22.

Squiggs96 for PM!
Dammit though, every time I see that flat line at game 27 it makes me so angry I want to throw my coffee table through my window.

The red snake is still above the black snake! This is three games in a row that we are on the good side, but Calgary is only 0.220 points ahead of pace. At least one point against St. Louis is needed tomorrow to stay above. Some would say they hope the luck of the Irish is with the Flames tomorrow on St. Patrick's Day. Those people are wrong. Have you ever researched Irish history? Tomorrow is the start of a five game homestand hosting St. Louis, Philadelphia (retro night), Columbus, Colorado and Dallas. St. Louis is the toughest opponent, but there are some very good opportunities to grab some much needed playoff points. Go Flames Go!

A loss to Colorado and a win against Philadelphia puts the Flames 0.122 points below the black snake. The homestand continues tomorrow afternoon against Columbus. The Flames need 13 points in the remaining 11 games (0.591 points percentage) to reach 96. If they win their next two games, they can go .500 the rest of the way to reach 96.

@ Squiggs, thanks for the snake update. Like I said this is the best playoff thread.
Could you maybe do an 2nd graph that shows maybe just the last 12 games in addition to the full graph? That way we can see more clearly what the red snake is doing.

So mission 7W now? It's going to come down to the wire, but I think we've got this.

I just really hope we get there before the LA and Winnipeg games at the end.

Then they'll probably need to go 6-2-1 in the next 9 for 96 points
vs. Columbus
vs. Colorado
vs. Dallas
@ Minnesota
@ Nashville
@ Dallas
@ St. Louis
@ Edmonton
vs. Phoenix
Have to beat all the teams below us, and then get a point against Minny, Nashville or St. Louis.
Tall order.
My guess is that those final two games will be massive.

If we go 6-5 in our remaining games that gives us 95 pts which should be pretty close to what we need to get in.
