Fun movie, a bit better than I expected.
lots of 'dumb' parts that have been mentioned here already which I fully agreed with but was pretty much what I expected from this movie.
Non-existent or awkward character development was the worst part of the movie for me.

My husband and I went to see this on Saturday night.
This is one of the_worst movies I've ever seen. The acting is so bad, it made it almost worse than 10,000 BC.
Dinosaurs are cool, but not cool enough to save Jurassic World II.

I definitely found Howard's acting in the beginning to be pretty bad. She seemed to settle in a little bit after.

To be fair, the movie has been out for weeks now. If you haven't seen it and came into this thread anyway, you kinda had the spoiler coming.

Also, who says riding a baby triceratops was a baby ride?
That is the first thing I would want to do!
Then I would want to hit up the GD petting zoo!!!!

Riding Triceratops drunk would be the highlight of my trip for sure.
If you don't like that crowd, stay clear of Disneyland.

How did I have it coming? The movie is still number one in the box office so obviously huge amounts of people are still seeing it for the first time, and everyone had been spoilering everything in here, so I figured I'd check in and see the opinions of a few more CP'ers who had gone, as I'm kind of on the fence.

To be fair, not everyone can see the movie in the first few weekends.

It's still in theatres, if it had been out on blu ray for months it'd be a different story. Thius is still a brand new movie.

Exactly my sentiments. Not much of a plot or storyline and the worst choice of actors. I was actually laughing at some of the scenes as they were so corny. The original 3 have this one beat hands down.
On a side note I took my date to see this as per her request and I swear my hand still hurts from how hard she was squeezing it. She gets startled very easy and would squeeze like she had a death grip on my hand. Good lord my hand still hurts

It's just funny to not have the chance to talk about a two week old movie because of everyone else.. Ffs use your brain if you want to watch this movie and don't like spoilers then avoid this thread!

If you're going to talk about the movie then have some respect for others and use spoiler tags. Most have but some have not.

I honestly didn't see any corn at all in the Raptor stuff. If they are intelligent as has been indicated throughout the series, and they are bred in captivity, I don't see why they couldn't be trained like dogs. I thought the relationship between Owen and the Raptors was the most interesting part of the movie. I thought Pratt was great. The humour in the movie hit the mark for the most part "Your boyfriend's a badass."
I thought the characteristics of the main bad dino gave it an "Alien" type feel where you never knew when it could pop out and that suspense held very well through most of it.
The thing I think that is splitting people is perhaps the dino battles. The original and really the first 3 in general had little to no interaction between the animals and it was mostly about the people running from the monsters. I liked that they had battles between predators looking for their place in the food chain. It makes perfect sense to me that these animals would end up fighting if they were left in the open.
Some predictable stuff (splicing Raptor into the big one, Raptor antagonist dies by Raptor, T-Rex battle). I thought Howard was just OK. She got better near the end, but I didn't think held the stiff CEO type very well at the beginning.
There was some stuff that I noticed they just kind of skimmed over. That flying Raptor thing when the Pteros escaped, Grady didn't have any questions about that? What happened to the scientist, it seems like they were going to kill him or something. I liked the Hammond-type guy flying the helicopter, but hoped he survived or at least did a little more. Would have liked to see Howard grab some souvenir shoes to wear or something. Women running from animals that can keep up to cars in heels ticks me off. She would be done. And how did she get through the jungle in those?
Also, thought it was quite a bit more violent than the other three.
Anyways, I really enjoyed it, 8/10.

Those were a real species of pterosaurs.

The worst offender of this being the mom. Who thought that Judy Greer would be a good actress to play the mom?!?!

Can we get spoilers put in the thread please by a mod? At this stage in the game it is pretty stupid if we can't discuss plot details... what is the point of the thread? Should I start another thread? Do we really need 2 Jurassic World threads? How many times can I say thread in one paragraph? I purposely avoided this thread until I had seen the movie expecting to find spoilers in here.. I think that is just common sense.
