Would kind of like Gaudreau to play with Granlund rather than Bennett - Granlund's pretty far along in his development and should be our best all around player, if not the best player of the tournament. No slight on Bennett, just think Gaudreau-Granlund would be money.

I desperately need hockey to come back. I was cheering watching American Ninja Warrior tonight.

I could see that working really well too... Granlund has an awesome shot so he could complement gaudreau's playmaking ability.

Would be nice to see that trend continue here. Looking forward to it.

I would be prepared for some kids from the other teams to take some runs at him, they would have heard the talk about this kid from Calgary and like a lot of young guys they will try to put him in his place. Won't work though, Gaudreau is just too smart and I think all will witness just how special he is, he will light them up imo.
I too wish the college kids could take this tournament in as it would allow everyone a chance to see how they have progressed.
All I do know is that I need some hockey already, I'm Jonesin' for the sport!

Nah they won't, unless they want to take a beating from Big Rig, Big Zig, and Ferland.

I'd watch out for Nurse. Right off the bat last year, he drove Baertschi head first into the boards.

Yeah, that roster is essentially the Adirondack Flames next year. Winnipeg's roster looks pretty good as well.
Kind of surprised Ortio's allowed to play. I thought he's played too many pro games (if you include his time in Finland). Oh well, all the better. He's going to be a freak in net.
Granlund, Bennett and Gaudreau has me salivating at the highlight reel plays that are going to be made.

I really like Nurse, but you're completely right, he's a bit of a prick. Unlike the Heat last season, there will be people on the ice to control that type of thing. Especially with Burke watching.

with the tournament this weekend, when does the prospect camp start? I would imagine the guys are coming in for the physical testing in the next day or so?

Oh I threw him in there as "Big Zig". That's my nickname that I made up for him after I found out Hunter Smith was "Big Rig".

I am not too familier with this tournament, but looking at the schedule:
Game 1 Calgary vs Winnipeg Sept. 12 4:00 pm
Game 2 Vancouver vs Edmonton Sept. 12 7:30 pm
Game 3 Calgary vs Edmonton Sept. 13 7:30 pm
Game 4 Vancouver vs Winnipeg Sept. 14 2:00 pm
Game 5 Penticton Vees’ Exhibition Sept. 14 5:30 pm
Game 6 Edmonton vs Winnipeg Sept. 15 11:30 am
Game 7 Vancouver vs Calgary Sept. 15 5:30 pm
Is there like playoffs to determine the winner or is it just a bunch of round robin games for the prospects to get a feel and management to watch?

Do you think they'll pair Bennett/Gaudreau together, as well as Klimchuk/Arnold? They had some good chemistry in that rookie training camp earlier.

There have not been any playoffs in the past, and I expect none this year.

this is going to be exciting. I think the Jets have the next best roster but who knows who will come to the table this year. I find young players like this are very unpredictable.
Who will be coaching for each of the teams? AHL coaches or assistant NHL coaches?

If he polices the blueline and scraps, we can call his fights 'Ziggy Pops'
