Meddling ownership will always trump whatever bright lights are elsewhere in an organization.

Have you checked Buffalo's record? There is more to building a good team than winning trades. Regeir would patiently draft and develop players, the core group that Regeir assembled would fail to deliver on their promise, and Regeir would trade his core players for high draft picks and start over again.

I've had a similar theory for awhile and amazingly it explains a LOT of his actions, especially around the arena deal/threat of moving the team.

If it was true it would go down as one of the funniest things ever done to a fanbase/city.
