And they fired their coach too.
Talk about an overreaction to 3 games. As for trading Glenny, no thanks. Not unless they want to unload a 1st and Couturier. No interest otherwise.

The next headcase will be the next player to accidentally turns a puck over.
Clearly they think this is a country club. How dare they.

At this pace the Flyers first rounder will be a good one.
Glencross does not fix that team, but why argue with them if he is who they want and if they are prepared to pay?

Glencross is the last of the bad attitudes that we should have cleared out for the rebuild. Lazy, disinterested and exhibits no desire. This is supposed to be the leader for this team? No thanks. He is riding on past accomplishments and does not earn his credits every shift. I have felt this way about him for a couple seasons now. As far as I am concerned trade him for picks and give the ice time to the kids who will take full advantage of it.
|
The reason my name is Bourque's Twin is because I look a lot like Rene Bourque. In fact, some of my friends call me Rene.

Consistency IS his problem. That cannot be argued. He would be an awesome 3rd liner on a contender though. Id say Pens or Bruins or even the Kings. That being said, if he were to find consistency, he would be an absolute steal for the flames.
|
Even with his consistency issues he is still a steal for the Flames. That aside, I still think it is in the Flames best interests to look into trading Glencross.
I believe Brent Sutter scratched Glencross early into Brent's first season as the Flame, and I believe it was Maher who even said that Glencross didn't take it too well and I think it was even mentioned or alluded to that Sutter thought Glencross needed some growing up if he wanted to get back into the lineup. This was obviously a few years ago so my memory could be muddy. Perhaps somebody else can remember this?

If Glencross didn't have consistency issues he'd be an all-star olympic calibre player.
If any player in the NHL didn't have consistency issues they would be. The mark of a star player is generally consistency. All NHL players have flasshes of brilliance. Some are more frequent than others.

Kind of like the next prospect who struggles to stick with the big club or put up big points is apparently untouchable and no trade shall be considered for thee!
Riiiiiight.

At this point he's just a caricature of himself, no?
Besides that I can't fathom any reason for such a dumb-dumb-dumb comment.

I'd ship Glencross to philly for B Schenn without a second thought. They can have Cammalleri too.
When this team settles into its inevitable losing ways this season, the vets who can get quality ice time on another team will want to get the H*** outta here ... I say trade them now, on our terms.

There was talk draft time that Feaster asked for Read, Coburn and Philly's 1st for the 6th overall. Probably interest remains in these players.

How in the hell does anybody in here know if he's pouting, or pissed at himself, playing injured....can get pretty frustrating know what you want to do but the body won't let you get it done.
Some of you are making stuff up to justify wanting to trade him IMO...
|
It makes for a nice narrative. He got mad about a few penalty calls against and the story rolled from there. Puck skips on him last night and suddenly he didn't put in enough effort and was pouting.
???

I said pretty much factually because these character traits cannot be measured. From what I've seen of him in person and on T.V since he's joined the flames he's just a passionate player, but sometimes overly passionate as he's an emotional player. His traits can maybe be mistaken for being pouty, but that's not the case.
I don't care if he takes a dumb penalty once in a while, because I know he's giving it his all and wants this team to succeed as much as any of us.

This has potential for a fleece job as Philly is impatient and we might be able to pull a heist. Won't be Glencross but Hudler or Stempniak might be attractive to Philly as both can play lw which appears to be an area of concern for them.

Stajan and Stempniak were by far our best defensive offensive players last season. But how is adding another forward going to fix the Flyers defensive and goaltending problems?

God there are some terrible post in here. Glencross for Meszaros a fair deal? Sven now expendable because of Monahan? Iggy was a headcase? Yikes. Anyhow I honestly don't care if Glencross stays or not but man this thread is giving me a headache.

They can also both play RW... which is an area of concern for us. Serious, our org depth at RW stinks.

I like Glencross, think he's a valuable player but it wouldn't break my heart to see him moved. The reason why is I think the return would be pretty significant. I don't think a trade will happen, but if it does and it nets a great return, sign me up.
