Glenn wouldn't be a horrible option for Ottawa, he has proven that he still has what it takes to be a starter.

Pick a young QB with a bright looking future, and take Glenn for a great safety blanket.

Tate - injury risk may scare off Ottawa
Glenn - free agent and getting older.

I don't see how the Stamps protect anyone other than BLM.

The Calgary Stampeders have made the following roster moves:
• Import defensive back Demetrice Morley, who played 24 games over three seasons with the Stampeders, has been released
• Import quarterback Ryan Perrilloux, who spent the first half of the current season on the nine-game injury list, has been released
• Import running back Denodus O’Bryant, who was signed on Aug. 20, has been released from the practice roster

Why release Perrilloux? Are they looking to bring someone else in? It's not like our QB depth has been hobbled by injuries or anything...

Also, interesting timing because both Morley and Perrilloux were top-5 high school recruits back in 2005. Funny/sad they both ended up on the same team in the CFL, and were released on the same day no less.

Holy crap I missed that he was missing the last few games, just speaks to good how their depth really is. Concussions are brutal. Best wishes to him for a full recovery.

Stamps have moved RG Dimitri Tsoumpas to the nine-game injured list. Still dealing with concussion issues. #CFL

Not good news at all.

Quote:
“I don’t think it’s going to be ready all year, to be honest with you,” Tate said Monday after making it through the first practice of the work week at McMahon Stadium. “I think it’s going to be something I’ve gotta deal with the rest of this year, and then, hopefully, next year come back strong.

“Right now, I won’t be 100% at all, I don’t think, this year. That’s my belief. I hope I’m wrong.”

“I don’t think anything’s torn right now,” said Tate, who had a platelet-rich plasma injection into the area Aug. 8. “I think it’s all healed up. I think I had tears around it.

“I mean still have feeling in it whenever I throw and stuff, and I’m sure that probably has to do with strengthening the muscle — because it’s all attached, tendons and muscles and stuff — so it’s just such a tricky little deal.”

Not necessarily. This may force CGY to protect BLM, or it could scare OTT away from Tate.

Exactly - as bad as it sounds this could actually be great for Calgary - protect BLM and then does OTT want to take a chance on Tate who can't play half a season?

Calgary could end up with a Tate/BLM tandem next year which is an ideal scenario.

If Huff protects Bo it is very realistic that Glenn could agree to come back here as a FA.
He likes it in Calgary and Huff has treated him very well.
Tate i don't believe OTT will gamble one of their 2 picks on a injury magnet QB like Tate.

If Huff doesn't protect Bo, then we lose and he will become the starter for OTT after proving it in their camp it is that simple. Bo would get snagged, Tate might but i doubt it.
If we lose Tate, because of his unreliable football health so be it.

Yup, pretty much makes it a no-brainer to protect BLM. Kevin Glenn has handled the situation in Calgary like a true pro and if Ottawa nabs Tate (pretty risky in my opinion), so be it.

There is no IFs on this one. Hufnagel will protect Bo Levi Mitchell and expose Drew Tate and Kevin Glenn. I don't think Ottawa will even touch Tate because he's been injured all the time. How many games did he start since Burris was taken out to be a starter? We might potentially lose Kevin Glenn to Ottawa or he decides he wants to play starter in Winnipeg. Or there is a possibility he might stay in Calgary.

Hufnagel is too smart to mess this up. BLM is the future QB for this team and if Drew Tate keeps getting injured he might NOT be a Stampeders in the near future.

Stampeders released WR Carr. He will be replaced by WR Kenny Stafford on the lineup against the TiCats on Friday.

As much as Carr was tall...he always appeared to be too slow and lumbering. Hope Stafford has good hands and speed. Another weapon would be great.

I heard he is also 6' 4" and faster. He is Ex-NFL receiver Cris Carter and former Toronto Raptors head coach Butch Carter's nephew.

Sig Gutsche has passed away:
