On the topic of 50/50 why is the Edmonton jackpot always over $100,000 and closer to $150,000 while in Calgary it's usually around the $60,000 mark?

Do they advertise it better maybe? More gamblers in Edmonton? Wanting to win so bad so they can move to Calgary?

I've been to a lot of other cities to watch hockey, and the 50/50 seems to be a lot more popular in Alberta than anywhere else. I couldn't find numbers from a lot of teams, but here are some recent winnings:

Buffalo Sabres - April 19 - $12 708
Detroit Red Wings - April 11 - $5 178
Chicago Blackhawks - April 19 - $12 063
Edmonton Oilers - April 16 - $57 307.50
Calgary Flames - April 17 - $37 487.50

I'm pretty sure the Senators cap theirs at $20,000. Most games I've been to it's about 15

Pffft. A decent year's salary if you're a cleaner for someone on CP.
