He has been solid as the stay at home guy with Gio, Brodie, Bouw when called upon, and allows pretty darn few GA, which is what stay at home guys do... and all you hear is that he is slow.

Non-scoring, stay-at-home defencmen are always underappreciated, but it was especially bad with Sarich since he was overshadowed by Regehr in that role for much of his prime. As for the coaches, you're forgetting the ultimate disrespect move by Keenan to make him a healthy scratch to end his ironman streak.
Between the coaches and the fans, he's been the Rodney Dangerfield of the Flames for the past several years. If it bothers him, though, he never lets it show publicly and just goes out and does his job to the best of his ability every night. He's been everything that I expect a Flame to be.
