There are no perfect games for the Flames, only wins or losses. I mean, if you come in here to crap all over everyone in a huge win you'd be better off just not coming here at all. At what point will you allow people to enjoy themselves? The guys on the Phoenix broadcast were speechless when we came back to win it.
Who is down on them and who said Hartley would be down on them? I am saying that they need to play a full 60 minutes and that's crapping on them causing people to not enjoy themselves? Get a grip.

Just got back from the dome.

Was not expecting much outta this one. Sunday game, against PHX on back to back nights...ended up the most entertaining game of the year. When Phx went ahead with 11 minutes left I felt crushed, but that last minute at the dome is why I love hockey and why I love sports.

Great night and great win. Go Flames Go.

P.S. J-bo a star? Worst game all season for him

I'm under no illusions as to where this team is, but all I know is that I'd rather see a win than a loss every time, regardless of the long term implications.

we outshot them 31-27, this world of perfect efforts in 60 minute games is a delusion. This was the second of back to back games and we win both yet some how that's not good enough. What's the most bizarre is I'm usually the hardest on this team and you are coming off as seriously negative and abrasive, it's really really annoying. Of course we had a rough period, Phoenix was trying to rally and take the win after losing the previous night, it was the literally their time to push back and we still won.

Probably only games Kiprusoff started I guess, looking back.

Surprising win for sure:

- I think Comeau is playing well but he just doesn't have the chemistry with Hudler and Sven. They really should have Cervenka, who I don't think has been very good, but at least thinks the game at the same wavelength with Sven and Hudler. Comeau should be on the 4th line and is very effective. I think he's just miscast and he's being unfairly hated by fans.

- Butler had a pretty strong game. A little shocked to see him end up with 2 assists and a plus 2. He might have some trade value afterall

- Bouwmeester has looked great when it comes to joining the rush, but his lack of strength in front of his own net is still frustrating. He should just avoid a battle of strength and just focus on keeping the opposition stick busy. He just can't win physical battles and shouldn't try. Use your stick and position. Lidstrom rarely ever overpowered the opposition with strength, he used his smarts.

- Brodie just continues to impress. At this rate, he's going to be the best defenceman on this team by the end of the year. Doing it at both ends of the ice and using his smarts and mobility.

- I always thought Stajan was better than what he has been the past few years. I still feel Brent just had it in for him because Darryl traded one of his favourites for him.

I loved the work done by Stempniak tonight. He got that chance in front and was stopped on a clever move but then poked the puck past a defender when he was down on the ice so Glencross could get it and set up Cammalleri's goal. Then he set up the game winner by outskating the defenseman and getting room for himself. He has been outstanding this season.

Bouwmeester and Giordano were very good from what I saw tonight too. There were a lot of plays where Phoenix had full control and they just used good sticks and disrupted, then stripped them of the puck.

Stajan was stellar again. You can see that he has taken to cheating as much as he can to get an advantage in the faceoff dot. Good for him. Brind'Amour used to do the same thing back when he led the league every season.

I really, really, really hope that Iggy can relax now and start pouring in goals. Prior to this game his shooting percentage was below 2% versus a career average of around 13%. He is their difference maker and they need him now.

I'm actually very surprised that the Flames are as much in the mix as they are after what has felt like a truly awful start to the season.

Sven isn't scoring but he creates chances with a lot of consistency. I think he just needs one and he probably also needs Backlund to come back so he gets a stronger set of linemates.

MacDonald was steady and didn't let in any backbreakers. If Kipper practiced today, there is probably a pretty good chance he will back for the March 3rd game vs Vancouver.

No not for me sorry and I have listed my reasons why. I am happy for the win of course but I just hope they stay grounded so we can get a streak going, not showing up for the third period usually doesn't work.

The fact the Flames didn't rollover and die after the Coyotes took the lead is something we haven't seen in awhile. They pushed back hard late in the game and were rewarded for thier efforts.

Neither team played 60 minutes and IMO the better team won tonight.

I was watching it on the Phoenix feed, I missed out on the Kerr call but the Phoenix PBP guy was pretty funny after the Glencross winner too; "You gotta be kidding me...you gotta be KIDDING ME!", and then he doesn't say anything for a solid minute & a half after.

What a crazy finish

It was also kind of nice that both of Iginla's goals were absolute garbage/grit goals. Hopefuly he realizes he doesn't always need to score pretty goals, he needs to be crashing the net and banging home loose pucks and rebounds too.

Not sure why people say Cervenka hasn't been very good. He has 7 points this season with minimal playing time to adjust to the NHL. Hartley does need to put Cervenka with Huds and Sven. Comeau does not know what to do out there with these guys.

True, I just don't want them to get to high on this win because that will breed complacency in the next game. Not that they will read this post anyway but you never know. Part of being a winner is always striving for more and I hope they are looking at this like wow this was a great clutch win but guys we don't even need to BE in this situation lets go full out for at least 52 minutes preferably 60 next game and close a game out without needing a miracle.

I think Kerr is getting better and am willing to give him more time before I write him off. This coming from me who hated Kerr when he first started broadcasting games. He's starting to put some emotion into his play calling and I like that.

Great last two minutes. Shouted myself hoarse.
Iginla with a two goal game. Hopefully it is a sign of things to come.
Glencross redeemed him self with that goal.
Anyone got the audio clip for the Kerr call?

Can't believe they did that. Just watched the highlights.

Also, Kerr's ridiculous call is made more ridiculous by the fact that the audio is never synced up with the video. And he also seems to have abandoned any effort to accurately describe what is happening. Can be exciting, but some of the big moments are over the top or he goes nuts on nothing plays.
