Is all this Iginla negativety as a result of his one pull up at the blue line?
Sure it wasn't pretty but sheesh....

Yes, he's had a much better start to this game, hope he continues to improve as he gets more comfortable at this level; I was very unhappy with his play in Vancouver, but that could have just been a product of playing with a bunch of players who all laid goose eggs last game.

Tangs from what I have seen is a step off of the puck. He lost it about five times without pressure from the opposing D. When it comes to Iginla, Tanguay and Cammy, just seems like they pout when they aren't together.

Had the pleasure of listening to Peter Maher during the entire first period. The guy is a legend, paints a pretty picture, what a great voice for hockey and still one of the best. Wish he could somehow do Sportsnet's pbp as well.

point out what he's done well. His zero shots on net and multiple god awful passes really aren't helping the team

Iggy is too predictable. He tries to slow the game down every time he enters the attacking zone.

Iginla didn't play that badly. Started moving his legs more towards the end on the period. Pretty average period all around.

Powerplay Quarterback
|
Hudler - Cervenka - Baertschi
Tanguay - Iginla - Glencross
Stempniak - Stajan - Cammalleri
Begin- Jones - Jackman
Wideman - Brodie
Giordano - Bouwmeester
Sarich - Butler
Babchuck
Kiprusoff
Irving
Imagine that lineup, playing the game we just saw in the 1st period. Gotta be honest and say I have higher hopes than last season despite a rough start.

Thought Irving was pretty solid in the first period, particularly with a huge save in the first or second shift on a terribly weak play by Tanguay. Pretty good PK by the Flames in the first as well. Not much for scoring chances for the Flames, not sure if Backstrom had to make a difficult stop.

Not only that, he is looking great to the pro scouts in attendance.

Flames just look disjointed or something. Not much chemistry out there.
Hopefully they have a better second.

Maybe the fact he's on pace for 5 goals this year.
Oh and before we say he hasn't had scoring opportunities lets realize he leads the teams in shots by a wide margin.
Yet everyone wants to slam Irving rather than the player they should be slamming.

Lots of line juggling, trying to figure things out.
