Yeah, the reason I asked was because you said cost wasn't really a big factor, so I figured you might want to look at an over under or a semi.

There's noting wrong with a pump for anything you want to do, but if you as you can see from my previous post, if you're looking to do one or two specific things, you can often pick a style of gun that is a better fit.

Anyone around here have any feedback on Benelli 12ga semi's - something like the Super Black Eagle? Looking into buying a new gun and wondering if they are worth the extra $.

I'm looking for something that I can take trap shooting as well as duck & goose shoots. Hoping to find the most reliable gun to use both 2 3/4" and 3 1/2" shells. Weight is also a consideration with trap shooting too. I've been away from hunting/shooting for almost 20 years and the only gun I had experience with was a Remington 1100.

I just don't see how a reasonable person can think this is something that should be legal.

My dad as one of those, and it is a great gun.
He really likes shooting it, and I've used it a few times and it is a nice gun.
Is it really worth the extra $? Well I guess it depends who you ask.

I don't think I'd spend that much on a shotgun, but my dad makes more money than me, and he shoots a lot more, so we obviously have different stances on the issue.

to me it's not really that big of a deal, I would keep my eye on him but he is just showing that the irrational fear that the gun is just going to kill dozens of people isn't going to happen.

It's stupid, really freaking stupid to carry a fully loaded rifle over the shoulder in a mall at any time.

Pretty sure that's a pellet gun with a shopped in muzzle flare....

Duffman, we get that you don't approve of firearm ownership, trust me, but can you:
a) Not lump all firearms owners in the same category as you have so tastefully done with the above
b) Keep all your anti firearm talk in one of the other threads that are currently hot topics? I realize the thread lends itself to some of your previous questions but your last post is borderline trolling.

It isn't borderline trolling. It IS trolling.

As for the question above, I have a hard time believing that you can carry a loaded AR-15 in public.

Which begs the question, why is something that even a proponent of guns thinks is "really freaking stupid" legal?

And to me it's a pretty big deal. A guy walking around with a weapon capable of taking out dozens of people in a flash shouldn't just be treated with a shrug, he should be immediately cuffed.

You're saying the story is not true? This has been all over our local news today.

Believe it

http://www.nbc29.com/story/20719160/...-assault-rifle

I honestly fail to see how that is any different than the famous example of yelling fire in a crowded theater, it's quite obviously going to cause panic and could certainly lead to injury or death.

As far as why the man brought the rifle into the store, Charlottesville police say they believe he was demonstrating his 2nd amendment rights based on his behavior.
What a laugh. Hopefully everyone with an AR-15 follows this mans fine example of demonstrating his rights, and carries them around everywhere, like this guy did at an anti-Obama rally

Yeah, I'm not sure what I'd do if I was at Kroger with my kids and saw this. I would definitely get them out of there and as far away as fast as possible, and if that wasn't an option, I might be tempted to try to tackle him. Seems like waiting for him to do something with it would be too late.

Thanks to this nut, I did a little digging and apparently it is legal for pretty much anyone over 18 to carry whatever kind of assault rifle anywhere, with the exception of Schools, airports, courthouses and churches(lol).

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/0...n_2565023.html

You do need to be 21 and have a permit for a concealed handgun. But assault rifles around your back, no real regulations.

It's a great prairie dog slayer.

That is PERFECT!! Just too bad we can't get it here...read it's because of either the magazine capacity or the barrel is stamped 5.56 instead of .223. Will dig into it a bit more.

Nice shooting btw.

I still don't get why the AR-15 is not classified as an assault rifle, except for the full auto selector and burst selector on the M-16 the differences are pretty slight, and the AR-15 because of a very good recoil absorption assembly can still pump out rapid rounds.with better accuracy then a m-16 set to full auto or even burst auto.

no offense but people do that now already, they get in cars and that has the capability of killing dozens in just a few seconds too

Oh come on, are you seriously going to go down that stupid path? Can you tell me what the utility of operating a vehicle is? Now do the same with the weapon in question.

This is the real issue. You admit that this is "really freaking stupid" but you sure as hell aren't going to speak out about it. Do you not see how absolutely ridiculous that is? You're okay with something that you consider that stupid simply because of some ridiculous stand you feel you need to take on guns. This is why parts of America will always be backwards on this issue.

Yeah, and there are very stict rules about getting a license, and under what conditions you can drive that car.

I'm pretty pro gun as far as Canadians go, and I really have to chuckle when "Pro gun at all costs" types throw out an argument like this without thinking that it's actually a reasonable argument against their point of view.
