Oh don't worry they are here to take our money.

We need a DVP/RVP making boatloads of money doing #### all, but they need to report up to a SVP because we need one of those as well. They can share headlines with them, and some coaching every quarter. But the SVP needs a VP to report to.

But they need to have meetings at a fancy restaurant, and have a getaway to hold a conference as well. But don't worry they don't book those themselves they have a VP of Travel and VP of accommodations to do that for them.

Well...when I show up, albeit reluctantly, theres rarely anyone there. And if you actually need help? I'd be better served hopping behind the desk and doing it myself!

Now tell me of this fantastic invention you've concocted...I believe it is referred to as....the 'seat belt?'

Is this because its belted to the seat or...I'm a simple man without an engineering degree!

Did you say ‘place the small metal flap into the buckle’ or ‘place the buckle over and around the small metal flap?’

No I get that, I was just saying they still have all that useless management staff and chain of command to look after a shrinking workforce.

I dunno, I am a bit old school and don't like how casual everybody is everywhere all the time now. I have my casual days of course but for a lot of people, putting any effort into anything is a challenge? We have become a culture of slobs in a lot of ways compared to other parts of the world and being that casual is what leads to behavior that isn't socially acceptable.

Bank managers in t-shirts and casual attire all the time? Come on. People showing up to the movies in effectively sweats and PJ's thinking they are in their living room are the people who are talking, texting, scrolling and more. Why? Cause they think they are in their living room.

People going to weddings and funerals looking like hobo's. It really isn't hard to show the smallest amount of respect and look decent, especially for men. Wearing what amounts to beach clothing and sports jerseys to a wedding, big surprise you had a $25 envelope, drank a mountain of free booze at the wedding and made an ass of yourself, everybody knew you were trash walking in.

People going to fine dining restaurants looking and acting like bums, bragging on the social media account about their steakhouse dinner. We get, you actually go out once a year and gotta tell the world, the rest of the time your amongst the other hobo's chowing down on non stop deep friend pickles and wings, arguing with the waitress about the beers on special. We have seen you there a million times and we know your not graming your happy hour specials.

Maybe I am just an old fashion guy in his 30's but I really appreciate how older people actually present themselves in public. The older women who is dressed up very nice from outfit, nails and hair was probably an absolute fox in her day. The man she is with looks like a boss dressed up nicely and clean.

The trash that just walked onto the airplane wearing tank tops, beachwear and causing a disturbance? Ya, they are the couple that is going to sit next to you, smell awful and start clipping their toenails on the plane enroute to Italy for their honeymoon. Like come on honey, you look like roadkill compared to the Italian women, maybe time to comb your hair and apply some fresh polish on your nails for the first time since high school, the old polish has more chips than your windshield.

Do you think it could be your perception of well dressed people versus casually dressed people drives this?

When you see a “slob” you become less tolerant of their anti-social behaviour. When you see a well dressed couple you are more tolerant of their anti-social behaviour.

I’m not accusing you of this but lots of the perception of what is progressional is just reinforcement of class or racial bias.

It's not usually the people putting on the L&L ordering, its the assistant at where they are presenting.

Anything but green bean catered sandwiches. They are garbage. Then you look at the bill for these things. $12 for each loaf bread ham sandwich? Bumhole coffee? That orange juice that doesn't go bad no matter how long its at room temp. Bloody mcdonalds would be better.

The dress code thing depends. Just car shopped a few weeks ago. Go to Heninger Toyota, earlier in the day. Dressed shlubby like usual. I don't care if they think I can afford this or that.

Walk in and at least 10 of them standing around the reception desk, all looking like the absolute cliche's they are, late 50's boobs with hairpieces and suits from Moore's, cigarette stained fingers, lebanese guys, cookie kwan.

They ask "do you have an appointment?". We laugh, do we need one, haha. They all disperse and leave us with the kid who obviously started last week. Didn't know crap. Told me I have to put down a deposit to test drive a vehicle. Just left, fata that.

Ohhh, Centaur Subaru is across the street. Tall gangly kid dressed quite horribly with a poorly grown thin greasy moustache.
https://www.centaursubaru.ca/meet-our-team/

Blake.

Bought the car in under 30 minutes. Had no interest in a Subaru at all. Hated the process so much, I'll pay an extra $5k to avoid the lying back and forth thing. Paid cash and drove it away. He was great. No pretention or phonyness.

Like Locke said, if you are overdressed, then it hinders the opposite direction. Words and actions are >>> than paying $2000k/mon on dry cleaning.

The part that bugs me the most with this crap is you just know that kid is guilted (or even straight up told) that he has to buy expensive clothes, yet not paid enough to afford them. Even though he'd be just as good at his job in a golf shirt.

I'd rather buy a car from someone dressed normally rather than a pretentious looking dickhead anyway

I do think bias's do play role without a doubt and I think we are all susceptible to them too. We are visual and physical creatures, it's the way we are wired.

I am no Mr. Fashionista all the time and I do have my causal days 100% but there is a time and a place sometimes for that. We have lost the perception about how we look and it extends to other things as well. People selling their cars and homes that look like crap, why don't you put effort into making it look nice to perspective buyers?

People go to job interviews looking awful, weddings with what is beachwear, a sports jersey and Birkenstocks? I could understand being totally casual and wearing jeans and a golf shirt but is really that an effort?

The other day on BNN Bloomberg and CTV channels I saw an interview with the VP of Finance for Flair Airlines. Lot's of speculation they are on their last leg and have a serious cash burn and may not survive much longer. He was doing this interview wearing an actual hoodie and discussing the confidence in bringing on partners to expand and take on AC and WJ. You can't be taken serious when you look like that in a business meeting and in an interview, you have lost confidence. I have had positive experiences with Flair but I also know they aren't making plane payments, paying airport taxes, government taxes and have the most amount of complaints to the Air Transport Authority. They are probably burning $3 to avoid paying 50 cents in compensation.

An executive team with the above attitude maybe played a little role in their overall performance failures. Nobody can foresee spending $20 on a Costco shirt and tie set to at least try and look the part? It's not hard

I always get a brick to the face when the back to school traffic starts up. Lanes are closed everywhere. Ok I’ll take a different route, turn, go a block, road is closed, no equipment, no holes in the road. It’s everywhere. Feels like we’ve doubled in population.

In the Mohawk and the poor (Indian) attendant is getting yelled at by a guy. Huge imposing dude showing him his phone. He’s scared. I see buddy’s phone, he’s on some sort of translation app. Cyrillic to English.

“I need to pay for my parking in lot 87”. WTF? You’re in a gas station.

Feels like we have all the negatives of living in New York Coty with none of the benefits of live by in New York City.

I went to 3 weddings and receptions this summer. I have yet to see anyone in Birkenstocks, beachwear, jerseys, jeans, golf shirts. 2 attended by more than 200 people each.

The after party the day after at the house having a BBQ yup.

Not sure what weddings you are attending that’s driving you nuts.

Only new thing I’m noticing more of is less ties and #### ties. And a lot more casual shoes with suits, but that’s been the norm for a while.
