I really wasn't sure how they were going to begin from the excellent ending last season but i was thoroughly entertained. It was a very good premier and it sets up to be an exciting season with a broken down Deb, I really hope to see Hannah McKay make an appearance at some point.
The inside knowledge of the code and Dexters childhood drawings was quite the shocker.
Great opening episode.
How casually Dexter said "it looks like part of the brain was removed with a melon ball scoop" was morbidly funny
Scene with the road rage holy out of control there Dexter.
I wonder if anyone has ever kept track of how many F bombs Jennifer Carpenter drops in this show. In absolute terms over the course of the series, she's got to be the most profane co-lead in the history of TV.

And it's awesome.
It was pretty funny when Dexter was trying to figure out her password.... Or should I say F***ing Password

Since she knew about Harry's code, I think it will turn out that Harry turned to her for help when Dexter was a kid and starting drawing those pictures, and she probably came up with the idea for The Code as a way of treating Dexter. This would make her responsible for all of Dexter's kills, which would qualify her for the Code, and she'll end up being Dexter's final kill.
Interesting how she comes into town and all of a sudden there is a serial killer scooping brains which happens to be her research specialty. I have this feeling that the series may end with someone else making the final kill.

She was in England and came to town because she saw the murder in the media and asked/was asked to help with the case. But she very well could have been in town all this time and will be the melon ball killer.

She definately has her own agenda and it will be interesting to see what exactly she wants from Dexter as it seems she's not interested in the legal justice route seeing she likely has ample evidence to have him arrested.
This is where Hannah would have been handy as she could have easily made this problem disappear without Dexter having to break his code.
For some reason, they don't show next episode promos on Movie Central, but here's the one that aired on Showtime. It reveals some stuff about the doctor, so if you're seriously spoilerphobic, you might not want to watch it...

I think that we will find out that it is her code, not Harry's code. With it being the final season of Dexter, she takes the melon-baller to Dexter because he is no longer living up to the code himself.

I've been relatively turned off by the show lately but thought that was a pretty solid premiere.
I just watched the first episode.. and was pretty let down all around. Something seemed off the entire episode... it was slight but big... a show has a certain style and there were slight direction changes the entire episode. Dexter chasing down the lady at the end after she showed him the drawings was pretty lame.
