Agree.
Center or RW. Seems to be able to play up and down the lineup. Has good size.
One of those type of guys that winning teams seem to have available when injuries pop up.
If I was looking at a opening Roster right now it probably is:
Gaudreau-Monahan-Hudler
Ferland - Bennett - Frolik
Bouma - Backlund - Colborne
Jooris - Stajan - Jones
Bollig-Shore
Raymond gets waved and don't think there are any tears if we lose him.
Byron is the one guy that hurts me to let go just because he plays with so much heart and tenacity. Still feel like there is some untapped potential there as well. (Personally would switch him and Bollig but can't see it happening)
Poirier, Granlund, Agostino, Arnold, Klimchuk are all waiting in the wings as injury callups, and getting close to a spot.
A much bigger, but still talented, lineup when compared to opening night last year though.

I don't think Granlund is waiver eligible either, but I could be wrong

Arnold is another guy who doesn't have to pass through waivers as well, right?

What about Raymond and Shore to someone for a 2nd or 3rd?
Sucks to lose Shore but then we get major addition by subtraction with Raymond?

I don't want to move Shore, he is Stajan's replacement in the near future.

All of the following can pass through to the AHL without needing to be exposed
Gaudreau
Bennett (CHL-only, too young for AHL)
Granlund
Arnold
Hathaway
Agostino
Poirier
Klimchuk
Van Brabant

Lots of rumors swirling that the Leafs are interested in Zajac. Believe Friedman was the first to report it in his 30 thoughts.
This article suggests Kadri could be the piece going back:

I like this thinking as I believe there is interest in Shore out there. If I had to guess, he is worth about a 3rd round pick. However throwing in Raymond probably costs the Flames a 2nd round pick. And limits the number of teams Interested in his contract. Depends how bad Flames feel they need the cap room next summer.

You might get a mid late pick for Shore alone. Probably a fourth or fifth.
Moving Raymond at all would be tough given the salary cap and his play late last season / this preseason. Especially with another year left. If you could move him it would probably involve retained salary. It certainly wouldn't be for a 2nd or 3rd.

Hmm don't want to retain salary.
How about Raymond and Shore for a 7th.
Problem with that I guess is that Shores goodness cancels out Raymond's badness but we get nothing back.
Hmm, how to ditch Raymond without retaining salary?

You probably can't unless a team really believes that they can turn Raymond around.
Honestly at this rate he is most likely going to spend the season in Stockton and become a buyout candidate in the off season.

don't think a team will bite when it comes to Raymond ... certainly not without the Flames retaining salary and/or pulling the trigger on a trade that heavily favors the other team (e.g. by including Shore, a pick etc). If this was his last year of the deal or if the deal was front-loaded, then teams surely would be interested, but at over 3m per year until 2017, this is a situation where even Treliving will find it hard to work his magic.
Ideally they waive him and someone picks him up, but that's also unlikely IMO. Probably will go down to Stockton at some point.

This is the issue for Shore. Out of his real competition, only Granlund is easy to demote (and he has had a good camp). Don't get me wrong - I think he's a keeper, but there's only what - 14 roster spots for forwards? Thats his issue.

Don't forget Raymond has a 10 team NTC too. He's not going anywhere. He just needs a confidence booster and he can be helpful.

Idk I'd rather go with our hometown boy Grandlund in the long run.
He's 2+ years younger and has more potential IMO.
As for Shore I'd try and pimp him as much as possible this pre-season and trade him to a team like New Jersey.

I didn't realize that. Makes a bad signing even worse. Really need this guy to produce at the NHL level to at least keep some trade value.

What kind of confidence booster are you talking about? Have they not already given him a chance with Hudler and Bennett? I was hoping he could turn it around this pre-season, but he looks worse than he did last year. I'm with the other posters that don't think he can be traded and will be bought out next year. The only question is do they give him a pressbox seat or send him down?
If they give him pressbox then that effects a player like Byron, Jooris , or Shore. To many forwards, and judging from Hartely's statement last night, Bollig is not going anywhere. I really thought he would be traded. I have not even mentioned Granlund. I really don't see much chance of him making team out of pre-season only for the fact they can send him down.
