From nhl.com
Tie-Breaking procedure * - Division leaders are seeded 1, 2, and 3 in Conference standings. If two or more clubs are tied in points during the regular season, the standing of the clubs is determined in the following order:
- The fewer number of games played (i.e., superior points percentage).
- The greater number of games won, excluding games won in the Shootout. This figure is reflected in the ROW column.
- The greater number of points earned in games between the tied clubs. If two clubs are tied, and have not played an equal number of home games against each other, points earned in the first game played in the city that had the extra game shall not be included. If more than two clubs are tied, the higher percentage of available points earned in games among those clubs, and not including any "odd" games, shall be used to determine the standing.
- The greater differential between goals for and against for the entire regular season. NOTE: In standings a victory in a shootout counts as one goal for, while a shootout loss counts as one goal against.

I'm glad there isn't a long wait for the draft lottery.

So heading into tonight the picks can still fall anywhere between:
Calgary's 1st: 4-6th (1st and 4-7th with the lottery)
St. Louis' 1st: 16th-23rd, 27th-30th
Pittsburgh's 1st: 25th-30th

The St Louis pick getting to 16th would take some crazy luck though possible it would requie the blues finishin 6th in the conference and the the 7/8 seeds from the west and the 6/7/8 seeds from the east making the conference final.
This is after the leafs, sharks, and kings wine their last games and the blues lose theirs. That would be pretty awsome. I am just hoping for the blues loss and a few of the toronto, sharks, kings win.

Yep, I have 1st in there.
Oh I see, my brackets are bit confusing but with the lottery we can finish 1st or 4th-7th.

Yep for sure, would be closer to a miracle than anything else. But the Kings, who play the Sharks tonight, do not have to win. They need to lose in OT, which is even less likely if they were playing different opponents.

The one good thing about this draft is for the first time in a number of years, the Flames will draft in a single digit slot. No the dead pool area between 12 and 20 something where we seem to hang around. Calgary Flames are the only NHL team that has never drafted in the top 5. Lets hope Feaster and his scouts aren't on the hunt for another high school dandy, or a college can't miss that you will never see for up to 4 years.

It is kind of funny (in a sad, and ironic way) that ROW is going to punish us this year. After years of missing the playoffs due to other teams winning shot-outs, they change the rule and now the Flames become a lottery team and get bitten by the new rule.
Oh well, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

Love it if NSH or CAR does us a solid.
It'd be nice to draft higher than we ever have in Calgary Flames history.

It doesn't seem like the Pens are resting anyone tonight. So hope for Nashville to somehow win.

C'mon Carolina.. lose 5-4, or loss in OT, or just win.

I'm sure their top guys won't be playing 20 minutes though. Probably around 10 and the scrubs will see more ice-time.

Sad thing is, their scrubs are better than some teams' first lines.

Not to mention, you aren't likely to see many Pens players diving in front of pucks.
The Oil did us a huge favor last night. Hopefully at least on of Carolina or Nash comes through. Columbus should be desperate to win, which doesn't help our cause. Stranger things have definitely happened though.

Hoping that Columbus being the young team they are, kind of buckle under the pressure of tonight's game.
