All I know is betting on the World Cup is a goddamn joke.

People say NHL playoffs are random and depend on luck...well the World Cup feels just as random but depends on VAR and if it is working for you or against you that match.

The three teams that I was going for could all be out today. Germany is gone, Poland is gone but they were a long shot although they should have made the elimination games and now Colombia could potentially fall today. I expected Colombia to be one of the top performing South American teams.

I feel your pain, unfortunately Germany deserved their fate, no passion, no urgency, no finish

VAR strikes again. I have no idea why the ref overturned that penalty. The Senegal player was about to score and got taken out. Seemed obvious to me.

At last glance in the replay, the defender does look to get a very slight touch on the ball before making contact with the player, so that must have been his take. That's iffy though at best.

It should be like the NFL, if there's not indisputable video evidence to overturn then stay with the initial call.

VAR is a joke and has completely turned me off the World Cup.

I would say that replay did provide indisputable evidence actually. He did get ball first. I'm OK with that overturn actually.

I strongly suspect that if it were Germany and not Senegal, it'd be a penalty even with VAR.

Well that's a completely different story. Based on that replay, I think the right call was made.

that's the thing with replay in other sports as well. it has to be black and white. So if the defender gets even 1/100th of the ball, he got the ball. Like a skate is not on the blue line of if the runners foot came off the bag.

Whats the line on that game?

Betting on England/Belgium is going to be wild. Thats going to be an interesting game because both are going through and the loser of today's game gets an easier bracket.

I'm thinking 0-0? Its going to be decided on sportsmanship points.

So let's say it's 0-0 and England gets a yellow card so they're tied in sportsmanship points (probably Henderson for simulation!). What's the next tie-breaker?

Feats of Strength?

Kane vs. Lukaku around the festivus pole?

I would start Fellaini and tell him to elbow someone.

for England, confirmed Vardy will start in place of Kane.

Belgium is gonna start Mignolet, that'll be the tiebreaker since 0-0 won't happen. Of course the one time England needs Joe Hart...

Japan are down 1-0. They played the most ridiculous lineup today. Claiming fatigue.
