Looked like he strained something, Brasil lucky to have Felipe Luis. Maybe even better suited for this game. Hopefully Marcelo is ok.
Brasil been hit with the injury bug, Costa, Danilo, Dani Alves , and Marcelo injured

Broadcast didn't really say. He came off in tears at around the 10' mark.

It's hilarious how much better Coutinho is than Neymar. Barcelona have to be thrilled with how that all worked out in the end.

Germany couldn't win in Russia during the winter, and it turns out they can't win in Russia during the summer either.
Are we more worried about Locke or Girlsports' safety at this point?

Yup - creates so much. That little flick of the heel, at pretty much full sprint, to chip it up on the last rush was crazy.

Liverpool would be ridiculous if they could have found a way to keep him. Salah-Firmino-Mane-Coutinho-Keita-Fabinho would be insane.

England and Belgium will be funny tomorrow.
All yellow cards are certainly sitting out.

G2 looks to have an easier path to the semis than G1. Awkward.

A World Cup round of 16 without Italy and Germany looks weird.
In the 13 World Cups that have taken place since the 1966 World Cup only one previous time have at least one of Germany or Italy not been in the Semi Finals (1998 - They both lost in the QFs).
To have a World Cup where one of those two teams is not even in the knockout stages is just crazy.
Also in every World Cup outside of the inaugural World Cup in 1930 one of Brazil, Italy, & Germany has been in the the final 4. So if Brazil fail to make it to the semi-finals it will be the first time since 1930 that one of those three teams fails to be there in the semi-finals.

Lol, Coutinho has been great but that’s Neymar’s 3 games back from a fractured foot and looks to have turned a corner. Both are game changers, Brasil is lucky to have both.
Thiago Silva and Miranda have been very strong so far. One of the best defensive pairings of the tournament

It's a good way to grow the game into new markets. And the fact that Senegal or Japan have a shot at advancing is a fantastic result for having teams from outside Europe represented in the Group of 16.

If anything it shows that the game has already grown into new markets.
The fact that Korea beat Germany today (without the need of a criminal being the ref ) shows that the game is probably more even than it's ever been.
Lots of close matches, surprises, and tight games so far in this world cup. Really only Panama looks like they don't belong here.

I'm glad Asian football is doing well in this tournament. They were good in the 90s but have gone nowhere since. They lost nearly every match in 2014. Hopefully it's something to build on.

Spruce Meadows and Cavalry FC will be showing World Cup at the plaza on Canada Day. Hopefully the weather works out for it.

I'm predicting England beats Belgium in the 90th minute, when Hazard scores in his own net from the halfway line to seal the tank. But seriously, that really will be a fascinating match to watch, I do expect a total tankfest from both teams. Though as I said before, for England, the easier the potential road to the final, the more likely it ends in embarrassing defeat.

A World Cup without Germany is a World Cup not worth having.
