I think this is true for a lot of people.
Trump/the GOP haven't come up with final reason why this is is a bad thing, so everyone is just kind of throwing stuff at the wall until they get their final talking points about why this is so bad...

Biden didn't announce on X. He wrote a letter which was circulated everywhere including X.
You need Obama to endorse? How about his closest advisor? How about Whitmer, Mayor Pete, Newsome, AOC, Shapiro, Gillibrand, Murphy, Kelly, Whitehouse, Schiff, Pelosi, etc etc etc?
As for timing, Biden is IMO, completely competent to run the US - he's been doing a great job. It's just become clear to him that, politically, it's better to step aside. That wasn't apparent "months ago".

I don't know about a civil war, but I fully expect there to rioting and civil unrest if Trump loses. Maybe not at the Capitol this time because they will be expecting it, but I can see it spread around a bit.
