If it looks like Trump is gonna get crushed like a couple weeks out from the election, he's far more likely to blanket pardon everyone in his criminal sphere and quit for health reasons so he can avoid the humiliation.

Ah yes, you're right. My bad. Amidst all the insanity over the last while I actually forgot that the Dems controlled the House.
No worries we’re so far into the Tyson Zone I’m numb to any surprise. “The President supported the medical theories of a doctor who has said people can get sick from demon sperm”. Sure, ok, why not.
You can be forgiven for forgetting who controls what branch of government.

I don't see him quitting. But I definitely see him losing and then spinning the narrative until the end of time that he was screwed and it was not a fair election and he should still be presidente and the American people lost their favorite president and 96% approval rating in the republican party blahbidyblahblah. #demonsperm. And so on.
Just watched George W. Bush speak at John Lewis' memorial. Never thought I'd say this, but considering the complete s*** show that we're currently witnessing, I kinda miss him.

He was always a good speaker. Maybe not known to be as eloquent but always had a charm and authority to it. Go back and watch his 9/11 speech,or his debates with Gore and Kerry.

I watched his interview with Jimmy Kimmel abot a year after the election and found myself thinking...."Wait...do I LIKE George W. Bush?"
Then I remembered things like war crimes and stuff like that. But I'd still take him over Donny any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

It's indicative of how bad the GOP and politics under Trump have gotten where GWB of all people is seen as favourable compared to anybody. I still remember being so pissed off watching him announce that federal funding of embryonic stem cell research would not be permitted ... 'cuz Jesus.

I think listening to him speak with autonomy, it really feels like he's a different person than who President Bush was, and I think it's because President Bush was basically just doing what Cheney told him to do without much personal critical thought.

Guys, the dude lied to start a war that cost trillions of dollars and resulted in the deaths of millions. He also oversaw an extensive, illegal torture program.
Katrina, Guantanamo, etc., etc., the list goes on.
There's nothing Trump has done that even comes close to the destruction the Bush administration caused both domestically and internationally.
In a just world, he would have been brought to the Hague and tried for crimes against humanity.

Any validity for you to the opinion that he was just the figurehead stooge and it was Cheney et al pushing through the bad stuff?
I can kind of see that as the case and seeing him now is more inline with who he is.

This is true. Bush ran on 2000 being the non-washington guy, draining the swamp. Then he got really caught up in 9/11 and terrorism and went too far. I mean his popularity when he threw that ball at Yankee Stadium was 90% and he threw it all away by warmongering around the middle east.
People are just fascinated by Trump and I'm not sure why. Trump's been in Washington 3 years, while other politicians (cough Biden) have been there 45 years.
I would have like to have seen how Trump would have reacted to 9/11 as President. It's intriguing and scary at the same time.

People revere Reagan too. Apparently being a complete lying psychopath and a war criminal is fine as long as you're folksy and don't say the quiet parts loud.

It is terrifying to think how Trump would react to a 9/11 event.
