And so the public face of Trump’s plan to eradicate what is left of the US democratic system begins.

Even though the pizza analogy played out a dozen or so posts ago, I will stick with it since it doesn't want to die!
Would you be willing to starve yourself and eat nothing even if it meant everyone you loved and cared about would be left behind to be force fed the $%&% pizza?

In reality, most have known it was only a matter of time for him to suggest delaying the election with him polling so poorly. It'll be interesting to see what levers the GOP tries to pull to make this happen.

RCP remains consistent in their numbers so I would not get your underwear in a knot over this.

I don't think any poll can really be trusted now. The concept of even participating in polls has become very politicized in the last few years. It's become a point of pride that Trump won despite the polls and every talking head on the right has spent the last few years saying stuff like: "I've never taken a poll." "Polls don't represent us" "what kind of loser even has time to take a poll?" "If someone calls me asking to participate in a poll, I'm hanging up the phone."

I'd be more concerned if Trump hadn't consistently pissed off every general, colonel, lieutenant, major, captain, sergeant, corporal and private in the army.

I'm going to wildly speculate congressional Republicans will give the standard "Don being Don, he's not serious", they won't get pressed on it and they'll get the trial balloon data they want out of this.

It's possible he did, but as the picture shows he made no effort to take it seriously. Indoor rally, thousands of people, no mask. Just shows the current Trump supporter attitude that this is nothing, right up until their last breath.

If law matters only congress has the ability to postpone the presidential election and has never done so in the history of the US for any reason.
Not sure why a no big deal flu like virus is reason enough to delay the election. Must be all the internal big firm polling that just came in showing him he’s going to get curb stomped causing him to have a fit. This will only get worse as the election nears.

I’m pretty sure half of why Trump floated that tweet today was to swallow some of the news that the US economy shrank THIRTY THREE PERCENT last quarter.
The previous worst quarter was in 1958, when the economy shrank by 10%. In 2008, the economy shrank by 8% in the last quarter of the year.

If he didn't get it there, he was probably spreading it there.
Cain is still actively tweeting today. I never fully realized what BS these public figures Twitter accounts are.

If I'm not mistaken, this would have to go through Congress. If Trump and his cronies try to push this through and it actually passes the Senate, then that's pretty much the end of American democracy as we once knew it.

By tomorrow he'll be spinning this as a win since projections were for a decline over 34%. Winning!

His ridiculous suggestion would never get through the house. Senate means nothing.
