Nope as I said ...... all class.

What one would expect from a successful knighted man.

Anyways ..... another season, another non-English manager takes the crown.

Bloody European Union. There should be a quota on non-British imports, just like in the good old days - managers too.

Damn you Jean-Marc Bosman!

Bagor, you do know that Elton John is knighted don't you? ELTON JOHN!

Crazy to see a team go from biggest chokers to most clutch in a span of five minutes. City completely deserved it as they beat Man U head to head on both occasions this year and when it came down to it that was the difference.

Wow that was stunning today.... as a neutral, one of the best stories I've ever seen in the EPL.

I feel good for the City fans, for all the sour grapes about them they have a huge loyal fanbase over there that have been taking a kicking from Man United for years and years, it's nice to see a group with that kind of loyalty through so many bad years get rewarded - almost gives one hope as a Flames fan.

Harsh for United for sure though Fergie doesn't exactly inspire sympathy and I'm sure they will bounce back and have their days in the sun again in the future.

I'm just at a pub in Brentford having dinner and a pint.

I went to the Chelsea Blackburn game, my first Premier League game. It was quite the experience, unlike any other sporting event I have ever been too. The closest experience would be the Oregon Ducks game I went to a few years ago.

I thought it would be more intimidating going by myself but the people were friendly and I didnt feel threatend at any point in time. It would have been nice if the big eastern European looking guy in the seat next to me hadn't used my knee as an arm rest, oh well.

I will try and upload some pics in a bit.

Except for the fact that Man Utd's first team cost more than Man City's first team squad I suppose you have a point.

In how many of United's 13 EPL title wins were they the biggest spenders?

Two.

The largest difference to the next (16M) being 98/99 which worked out fairly well and elevated Fergie to legend status beside Elton and Sir Mick.

They're not even up there in top 3 in net spending. You want value for money? Titles/money then United and Arsenal are the best value in the premiership. I'd say Arsenal takes it. Wenger has worked miracles there considering the balance he's operating under.

Plenty to play with here.

What's your point?

Last 3 seasons.

United: Net spending of Minus 12.8M (that`s profit),
City: 264.25 Million.

That`s a difference of over a quater BILLION pounds.

Congrats.

I'm not sure I follow.

The first guy claims Man City's starting 11 cost less than Man U's. Are you guys talking wages or transfer fees or some combination of both? (I'm not well versed on EPL payroll calculation methods)

Bagor I don't get your facts. Are you saying Man U had a positive net transfer fee differential this year? Is it only this year? How is that calculated?

If you are saying Man U had a positive net transfer fee differential this year, so what? It's not like their team was free, they more than likely paid a lot of transfer fees at some point for those players who weren't developed internally. For example, if Man City made no moves but to sell Ballotelli next year would you claim they also have a positive net transfer fee differential, despite spending a cool qtr billion this year?

Edit: apparently I can't read. You said last 3 years. Ignore the last paragraph. And the second paragraph. So where did the first guy's claim come from?

The only difference is that United did it 20 years ago. And yeah, money wins the title. It always has.

As for the people declaring that City were about to engage in the ultimate choke job, does that title now go to United? They did choke away an 8 point lead and were outscored by City in their head-to-head matchups 7-1.

Think about it, those +6 goals against United were pretty important when it comes down to it.

I clearly remember that Ferguson said right after that game that the biggest disappointment was that United gave up those 3 late goals and that those goals could be costly. Too bad the old man got that one right.

The real neckbreaker was the 4-4 against Everton though. They were up comfortably 3-1 and then 4-2 with less than 15 minutes to go ... you can't give up points like that.
