I will take that over the influx of City "fans" the past couple of years.
Shocking how many people that never talked about soccer for 10 years all of sudden have been huge City fans their whole lives the past 3 years.

Sadly tho that team is Man City who are spending as much as the other big clubs, if not more.
If I was a fan of EPL living in a city supporting a side like Wolverton how could I possibly care? Ah well.

I think it is awful. Sickening in fact. They pissed so much money away - to the extent they are paying £100k pw towards the salary of a player for one of their top 4 rivals, and it does not matter.
I can't stand Man Utd, but City make me want to puke.

And not just that. It is that fans of teams like Wolverhampton know they'll never win the Premiereship. To us that's a big deal and is a reason why I'll never be 100% on board with how European leagues are operated but I don't think the Wolverhampton fans really care. For them it is about rivalry games, staying in the Premiereship etc. They might even have a second team of the big four (big six now?) or maybe it is a hate of one of the big teams the way we hate Vancouver or just a love of the competition and excitement.
There's the domestic cups, battle for avoiding relegation, battle for CL spots (although these aren't contested much outside of the big teams), Europa spots etc. For NA fans not even having a chance at winning the title would be prohibitive to caring but I don't think it matters much for a lot of those teams in Europe.

That's interesting. I have yet to come across this phenomenon here in the UK. Even in Manchester where there are more City fans than United fans. You never see small children or teens wearing City kit on the streets of London, Brighton, Hull, Exeter or anywhere UK - and they are the ones that are the biggest (or smallest) glory hunters. The amount of young people that wear Chelsea and United kit over here far outstrips any other EPL club.
I still think that it pales in comparison to the amount of people that have no interest in football, or any connection to a club/community, that claim United as their EPL team of choice. And I don't think that City can ever be bigger than United globally because of the latter's aggressive business building campaign in SE Asia, Central America and Sub-Saharan Africa.

There are actually still some interesting Serie A games this afternoon. Udinese, Lazio, Inter and Napoli all have a shot at 3rd place and the final CL spot. Inter plays Lazio H2H too. Should be a gooder.

Cruel way to lose the title. That's the emotions of the game. They've been on the other side winning it on the last day on 3 seasons. Today just wasn't their day.
Congrats to their "neighbours". No easy feat to win the premiership. Hardest in the world.
As I said ..... Pure class.
Now get to work and get a midfield.

Not that I give a rip about QPR but I wasn't upset to see Bolton go down. Owen Coyle's jumping from Burnley to their biggest rival (Bolton) a few seasons back was off-putting and it condemned Burnley to the Championship.

How unlike him. Are you sure there weren't any excuses in his post-match interview? I can't see how there wouldn't be.

If Chelsea should win the CL .......
Do they get 3rd place and automatic entry to the group stages with Arsenal having to qualify or 4th and they have to qualify?

I think that they get the lowest available spot, which would be 4th.

Haven't seen a league finish like that since the 1986 season when the Calgary Metro Ford Kickers came back vs the Montreal Supra while the Edmonton Brickmen choke away against the Winnipeg Fury on the last day.
Ok kidding about that, but 1986 Calgary did win the CSL league and playoffs...Owen Hargreaves dad was was on that team, and I forgot Owen was on MC this year.
Good for the EPL, I don't think that MC has the staying power, but full value for the league and game win today.
Liverpool better sort themselves out soon.
