We have no idea what will happen in the next 8 months, but betting on staying the same isn't where I'd put money.
Those events are also separated by 4 years, not 9 months so while I agree it’s asinine that Trump was re elected, it’s a lot more understandable when you look at the massive issues the dems had.

I don’t see any path where the liberals can clean up the mess of immigration policy and by association the cost of living difficulties Canadians are facing in a 9 month span. Things won’t stay the same, agreed there, but I just don’t see the remotest of chances that the conservatives end up with less than a majority.

The liberal party is basically the Trudeau party. It's not like there was anybody else of note that objected while the Federal government enacted their policies that have Canadians so against them. Hell, Freeland was happy to completely go along with all the crazy spending and stupid "Our economic plan is working!" tweets - only until she herself was getting fired. If she's the new leader it will be easy for the Conservatives to tie her to Trudeau just on that note alone.

Time will tell, you might want to buckle up.

There are still plenty of more recent Trump incidents prior to the election which people seem to have forgotten on voting day.

Having a lame duck government when trump comes into power surely will be fine, right?

I would bet a large portion on Canadians polling to vote conservative dont feel anywhere near as strongly about PP as people do in this thread. Yes, 100% the polling number for the Liberals will increase with Trudeau stepping down.

It's not ideal but that's more of bad a timing thing as the Liberals were in shambles and this should at least stabilize things as long as leadership hopefuls aren't prioritizing personal agendas (which they are all likely doing as we speak).
