True, trading Necas now may be selling high.
Trading him as a piece for PLD is selling very low. He’s worth way more than him today.

Ya, PLD would be a rental for Carolina. No way they are trading Necas for a guy who has made it fairly clear it's Montreal or bust.

Hey’s a great player needing a contract for his likely non- prime years which will decrease his value.
Now, that doesn’t mean a poor return, but he’s not getting the #3 OA or multiple first round picks .
|
Well we can’t just assume he’s going to sign for 8 years or how the deal would be structured. He may not want to play that long for all we know.
I also never suggested he’s worth the #3. He’s certainly not worth that either, but to suggest we’d be lucky to get the 17th in this draft for him is pure lunacy and we are in deep, deep trouble if Conroy can’t muster more value than that.

I could see Lindholm and Hanifin having surplus value on the trade market if the cap doesn’t increase much. Getting a top line or elite 2nd line center and/or top pairing all situations D at a sub $5M cap hit for the last year of the flat cap is huge. If the Flames eat salary it could be an even better return.

Talk out of Buffalo is Dahlin extension is basically done at 8 years / $80M. Can’t be official until July 1

What a deal. Coming in less than Nurse or Jones is pretty amazing as he seems to be the better dman of the 3.

That’s a $10M cap, higher than Jones and Nurse.

Where did I say Calgary could not get the 17th?

If CBJ is not moving #3 then the target has to be Washington's #8 if lindholm or hanifin are being moved.

I’d imagine they’ll wait to see it Michkov is available before making that deal

Isn't Michkov already committed to the Khl for the next 2 years? That doesn't really line up for him playing much with Ovi

No, but it could line up with him replacing Ovi. The Caps were able to get Ivan Miro-whatever out of his KHL contract; maybe they'll have the same luck with Michkov at some point.
Most mock-drafts I've seen have him going to Washington, although I still think there's a good chance someone grabs him earlier.

If Lindholm doesn't sign, it does seem like Washington, Pittsburgh and Colorado could be good landing spots for him.
Washington and Pittsburgh because their windows are closing and Lindholm could give them a chance to get deeper in the playoffs. Colorado is at their peak and were lacking a 2nd line center.
Pittsburgh's #1 is only a couple of spots higher than Calgary though, and I don't think they have have many prospects (that I know of) that could be added to the mix.

I like this and it does make sense. Lindholm in would give them a chance to win now and they said they won't rebuild as long as they have AO.
Hanifin might actually make more sense for them than Lindholm does
I'd take Mantha back for both plus #8 if we can find a team that will take Mantha

From what I've read, yes he has full intentions of coming over.

Agreed, though I haven’t heard him say when he’d come. He still has a 3 year KHL contract to complete or get out of somehow.
