Less of an iPhone/iPod app and more of a mac app, but ivi ($4 in the mac app store) is a dead-easy video conversion tool. You can do a standard drag and drop for video files and it will apply things like cover art and other metadata, convert it, then drop it in your itunes for easy compatibility. What I like is you can point it at a folder and get it to convert videos automatically on a schedule.
I was using iFlicks for this, and while it's awesome I'm in the beta and things aren't very stable for me. At the moment this is 10x's cheaper and does a lot of the same stuff. Speed is decent (but not like iflicks).
Edit: i should point out that through their website you can get the Pro version ($10) which lets you rip dvd's as well. Kinda wish I'd bought that one, but oh well.

Have you tried iSSH, and if so, how do the two compare?

Tweetbot is a pretty well featured Twitter app I've started using. No landscape support yet but that is coming soon. Worth checking out if you're not happy with your current client!

Can you explain the appeal? I haven't tried it yet, but every review is glowing and I can't quite figure out why. The features they seem to highlight are all pretty common and base functionality imo. There must be something more to it.
Also can you answer one other thing for me? When there is a break in the timeline (a gap of time) and you touch it to load the tweets in between, does the screen jump to the newer, upper tweets or does it sink down to the lower, older tweets?
The only app I've found that does that is osfoora (by "that" I mean it sinks to the oldest tweet). It's really the only feature I bought the app for.

I prefer it to jump to the newest tweet. Unless it's a monumental tweet it seems weird to respond to tweets over a few hours old.

Hard for me to describe, but the app just looks great and has...I dunno, personality. I used Echofon and Twitter for iPhone pre-dickbar, and Tweetbot has the nicest look of them. It has pretty much all the features you'd expect from a twitter app and more. Something I don't really need but some people really like it showing lists of what you've retweeted and who has retweeted you.
When you load up the app, it has similar functionality to the twitter webpage, where it says "15 New Tweets" or whatever number in a bar near the top and you click it to see them. It starts at the bottom of the new tweets, just like Twitter for iPhone.

Nice job. What multiplier are you on? I'm currently stuck on x28 because getting through island 4 in fever mode is pretty insane. Island 4 is much tougher than 3 or 5, so I doubt I can do it unless I get a really lucky day from the level generator.

I am on x26. Working on the last one, I assume I need to hit the first jump on the first 5 island transitions.

Any 5 through the course of your game. I barely got that one when I hit Island 7 and night was falling.

I thought the only thing that changes is the level skins. Do the levels themselves change?

I thought it was just the skins, I always have that low slope going into Island 3.

The levels are different every day. There are a few common features to each island (usually at the beginning of a level) but overall they can change significantly. For example, today Island 5 has quite a few sharp uphills that weren't there yesterday. This is obviously different for each person. Each island has specific settings I imagine, such as maximum slope and frequency of slopes, but overall you'll get something different every day.
Sometimes I'll play Tiny Wings at 11pm, and again at midnight if the original levels at 11pm weren't great for scoring.

I don't know which thread to put this in, but a big shout out to Apple for replacing my daughter's iPod touch for the second time under warranty.
First time was after my daughter dropped it into the toilet, and I told the Apple store so when I brought it in, and today, replacing the replacement without even trying to plug it in, turn it on, even with an obviously cracked screen. I told them that the screen had cracked, but it was still working after that (for about a month), then the other day it just stopped working properly.
Too bad they can't upgrade the 8G 2nd gen to a new 4th gen for me, or even let me pay for an upgrade.

Anyone tried that app to see what tracking data your iOS 4 app has been collecting?

We’d been discussing doing a visualization of mobile data, and while he was researching into what was available, Alasdair discovered this file. At first we weren’t sure how much data was there, but after we dug further and visualized the extracted data, it became clear that there was a scary amount of detail on our movements. It also became obvious that at least some other people knew about it, but it wasn't being publicized.

Hey, I totally missed this...
I did try iSSH but I can't remember why I didn't like it (it was a while ago). I tried a bunch of them, and finally settled on an app called Terminus. It just seemed the cleanest, and most appealing to me.
I like Prompt now though, first because it has a more professionally-designed feel to it (the "fit and finish" thing), but more importantly because of the customizable keyboard. There's a row of keys up at the top that you can switch out for whatever else you might want to use in their place. Autocomplete is nice too. The tab key is another thing that really nailed it for me. Makes working with paths so much easier.
