For anybody who wants to get into running and doesn't feel like they can do it, Couch to 5K is incredible. Just a basic little app that has you run at increasingly hard intervals over a 3 month period. Most importantly it just gets out of your way and lets you listen to your music and it tells you when to start and stop running. I went from a pretty sedentary lifestyle to running 5k with a shocking lack of effort.

which couch to 5k app? There seems to be a few out there.... thanks.

Thanks for the running apps tips.
I just joined "The Running Room"'s running club. I started at level 1 (run 2 minutes, walk 1 minute, repeat for 3km) and was bored. So I jumped to level 2 on Sunday (run 7 minutes, walk 1 minute repeat for 5km). I wasn't tired and could have kept going, but man were my thigh's tired the next day. It hurt to get out of a chair. I'm thinking that I might get one of these apps and start running on my own so as to get my legs used to the running. Just running when the club gets together might not be enough.

For golf fans, this year's Masters iPad app is pretty good. We'll have to see if it gets any kind of live footage or shot replays in Canada this year though.

BTW - I got a cute little RPG game today called "Battleheart". I have strep throat so I was off work today and spent most of the day in bed. But I did play this game on and off and had quite a bit of fun at it. Though I think it would be more fun if I didn't have to do so much grinding and playing the same levels over and over and over again. The gold and experience you get for winning battles is not sufficient to progress quickly in the game.

Atari's Top 100 games, on your iPhone:
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/atari...22966028?mt=8#
All in-app purchases. $14.99 for all of them or $0.99 each (I think).
Gotta try this out.

My TA for my graphics course has released a Tree Modelling App for iPad.
Treepad
Is is free, so check it out.
It allows you to draw realistic trees using control points, then export them to software like Maya for use in real projects. Seems like something that might be fun to play with.

I pared down my 6k run by 7 minutes today. Went from 7:20 a k (gross, I know) to 6:20.
Must say, my body is hurting like crazy.

Wow! Good job. That is a big jump down. So what is your goal? Run a 10K race soon?

Haha, I was searching through the Top 25 Free Apps yesterday and found a Rebecca Black soundboard of "Friday", obviously I d/l'd it.
I have been sneaking up behind my wife and playing the little clips for her...needless to say I am not getting laid anytime soon.

Lose 30 pounds. Get back into a semblance of shape. My skating at hockey is struggling mightily at the weight I am at now.
I just hope my body can handle all this running and stairs. My legs feel like they want to fall off.

Maybe we should move the "I am getting fit" chat to another thread. I turn to this one for information on how to make being stationary more interesting.

A little Off Topic but still regarding the iPhone, what screen protector do you guys all use for your iPhone?
I had the one that came with the Otterbox and liked that one but it had become pretty scratched up so I decided to switch it. I switched to the one that you can get from the Apple Store (Power Support HD Anti Glare) but am not a huge fan of it.

I think this was covered a few times in the iPhone 4 thread, but anyway...I use no protector, just the bumper. The screen already has enough protection. Sits in my pocket all day, dropped the phone a few times (twice on concrete), no damage to the front or back after 6 months.

The Apple iPhone bumper has done a good job of protecting my screen and back panel but has damaged the metal band around the phone.

In answer to my own question from a few weeks back, I finally found a decent SSH client!
Prompt (made by Panic - same guys who make Coda and Transmit).

The must have game: World of Goo
Today (not sure for how long) the iPhone version is on sale for 99 cents(just released). The iPad version (now updated as a universal app, so iPhone+iPad) is 4.99. Probably my favorite game across any iOS device.
