A shoot-first #1C is tough to begin with, but if you role one, they have to be good through all 200 feet - think Eric Staal as an example. Sure Monahan could pass as #2 but that's not gonna happen.
Love Monahan's finishing ability but he can't play #1C.

This would not be the time to experiment for next season. If the organization has some kind of epiphany about Monahan with 10 minutes left in this game then we’re worse off than I thought.
I don’t harp on individual players but Monahan has broken me. He should be personally embarrassed by his play.
