Your for real right? You follow politics and are unaware of interior BC basically being Alberta politically?
And no, not everywhere is the Lions den. I am sure the Laurentian Mountians have great hills, and he can ski with his fellow salt of the earth folk like Mark Carney. First one to the chalet buys totties!

I agree, but walking into the lions den, given his pompous style is asking for stupid.

Red Mountain Resort is where his brother Michel worked when he died in an avalanche while skiing, so I imagine it has some significance to him.

Ya, you are being silly. I know central BC is filled with nutbars. I still don't see what that has to do with where our PM should feel comfortable taking a holiday break.

Plus did you see how revealing his ski gear was?
He was totally asking for it.

Minister Leblanc works for his good buddies the Irving family and is bought by them. He also tried to get his sister in law appointed as the Ethics Commissioner but it was deemed a conflict on interest because Leblanc was in trouble for handing out lucrative fishing contracts to his family while he was the fisheries minister. Is he one of the worst Liberals? Probably not, but he is still not a great choice.

Well I'll keep this in mind when the Conservatives are in power, and all their cozy industry relationships are blown off, or defended as necessary and beneficial.

A new year and hopefully this nightmare comes to and end
Quote:
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s economic policies have faced significant criticism over the years for contributing to challenges in Canada’s economy. High levels of federal spending have led to ballooning national debt, raising concerns about long-term fiscal sustainability. His administration has implemented strict environmental regulations, such as the carbon tax, which many argue disproportionately impact industries like oil and gas, crucial to Canada’s economy. These measures have driven up costs for businesses and consumers alike, making it harder for industries to remain competitive globally. Additionally, increased taxation and policies perceived as hostile to private investment have deterred both domestic and international investors, slowing economic growth. Combined with a lack of substantial support for sectors like manufacturing and energy, these policies have fueled concerns about Canada’s economic trajectory under Trudeau’s leadership.

Kind of funny that the three people suddenly concerned about the Irving family over the last 2 days haven’t mentioned them before… ever.
Even though Leblanc has been in cabinet for many years.

Well, for all of that, this woman lost an election for school trustee. To a trans man. So they aren't as RW as you think.
Interior BC may be more to the right, but at least in the places I go there's a solid mix of political views. Plenty of left wingers.

Catching up on this thread.
Just to be clear, regarding the allegations of LeBlanc and Irving...
CalgaryPuck Posters are mad that the Liberals are in bed with the oil and gas industry.

The West Kootenays are actually a pretty left leaning area unlike most of the rest of the Interior. Rossland is situated in a NDP riding both federally and provincially.

Oh there's definitely some wacky far left wingers in the Kootenays as well. If I were to categorize the interior politically, it'd be center/right ,hard/left with a smattering of those hard right militant types. Definitely a minority to tho others I mentioned.

The lady that confronted Trudeau, as established, is a nutbar. Fine. You can't fix crazy (or stupid, for that matter), but what gets me is the amount of people who are cheering her on and celebrating it. Personally, I'd prefer my PM to be more of a Chretien-type strangler in this case, but maybe I'm just longing for a simpler time, lol.
On a related, but seperate point, shouldn't the libertarians be on board with a dude who's worth 100 million dollars doing whatever he wants for holiday? Isn't that the basic principle of the society you want to live in?
How come the anti-woke, leave me to be me-types are the suckiest sucks that ever sucked, and the actual people that have it hard barely complain at all?

Because they are mostly stupid people that are riled up on purpose by opportunistic politicians/parties/groups?
