one of my customers is a diehard oil fan... i'm talking litres of koolaid consumed every day.
this morning he was going on about how he watched some of the flames/bruins game last night and that the game was soooooooooooo boring and can't get how anyone could be excited to watch the flames play...
i asked him if he was watching a prv-ed game becuz there was no way he was referring to last night's game! i told him he was just choked becuz now the b's are going north with a bad taste in their mouth and will lay a beating to the oil this evening. then i asked him if he was just bitter that matthews and rielly combined have the same number of points as the entire oilers team... well... that hit a nerve! ha! ha!

So, only half of an all-star team. I'd love to see the In vs. Out of those trades in aggregate.

I get what he's saying, I mean for the most part Oiler's fans are relatively slow minded, so its easier for them to watch the Oilers play a slow glacier paced game then watching the Flames attack with speed which must be too fast for them to comprehend.
I mean personally, I would rather watch a fairly speedy team with a good top 6 and a good blueline then a sluggish slow team that is low skill.
I mean watching the Oilers would be like watching the old Saturday WWE TV shows where you'd get a tag team of Ricky Steamboat and Hulk Hogan against a couple of slow, sluggish not very skilled doofuses who look like they were pulled off of the street to take a beatdown. Someone's got to cheer for the doofuses.

Hes no Maroon that one. When does his contract expire? Hopefully they're working on an extension.

Which gets back to my modest proposal - every time you finish dead last, a Stanley Cup banner is removed. One cancels the other.

I agree, although I felt that every time you drafted 1st overall you lost a Cup.
The Oilers are down to 1.

In fairness to Chirelli he traded Kessel for Seguin and Hamilton which was a huge homerun for him. So he has won a trade in his career and should continue to be employed in the NHL.

I think it’s beyond hilarious how preoccupied Oilers fans are with shouting and screaming McDavids accolades. Like it means more to them if he’s considered the best player in the league than they care about the disgustingly awful lack of depth all over the roster after having a decade of unprecedented high picks.Do they not understand how pathetic and sad their franchise is? McDavid would’ve gone to any team and put up those same numbers if not better on other teams. I have no idea why they are so proud of his individual accomplishments, like Edmonton has anything to do with him being as good as he is. The Oilers got a ready made generational player and they still scare absolutely no one. They should feel gross after he constantly bails them out, you can tell he even hates having to do it every game. It’s a shame a substantial part of his career will be played for such an incompetent organization.
