Let's go!

That's a great intersect of joy ...
Every Oilers loss if a blast anyway, but if it boosted Calgary draft capital???!???

Great weather, a chance to win the cup for years to come, no pressure from media or fans, you get to see your friend Toffoli again...
What more could you want?!

Lots to like about the timing of that Sharks’ rumour.
Andersson just saw first hand how talented Celebrini is after the kid’s massive game, and he could potentially tie his wagon to that train for the next 10 years.
And he gets 10 days with limited distraction to think about it with his family and agent over the holidays.

On a sidenote, I sat behind Ras's wife at the Red Wings game. She was there with their daughter (who looks like a mini version of Ras).
Wanted to wish her well for the future, but didn't know if that would be weird. Ended up just smiling and nodding to her.
I'll be sad to lose Ras, but excited to see the returns, and the impact it will have on the 2026 pick.

Would be so fun so sadly it'll never happen. But what's the hypothetical best offer from the Flames?
Anderson (extended), Brzustewicz, Potter, conditional pick?
Hard to even gauge what Misa's value would be right now but hypothetically the Sharks get two guys who immediately improve your defense and plus a fun A-/B+ level prospect and another pick where flames get a 1C?
God I wish.

Not really much chance they give up Misa, but the package could be big for an extended Andersson, because the rising cap means fewer high end free agents are going to make it to free agency.
So teams like San Jose coming out of their rebuild will really need to pay up to fill their final holes or surround their youth with high quality vets.

My dream of the Flames acquiring Filip Bystedt is still alive!!
Edm 1st and Bystedt for a signed Andersson?

Maybe if another team likes Danford as part of a package you might get something done with a 3 way deal.

Danford is the very definition of a meh prospect so not surprised Conroy does not want him.

If I have to guess...Flames would be very interested in McKinney. There were rumors Conroy really really wanted him to fall to 54 where the Flames picked but he was taken by San Jose at 53.
Edmonton 1st
Mckinney
That feels like the starting point with maybe another piece.

I assume you can replace Armstrong and the Blues for Conroy and the Flames, and everything about this article is true for Calgary as well
Quote:
“Yeah, I hope they go on a run,” Armstrong said. “I hope a lot of things. But hope is a bad strategy. The reality of our industry is, as a group, they’ve got to go on a run, so when the phone rings I say, ‘No.’”
Answering the phone and saying “No” is a reference to NHL teams calling the Blues and asking them about potential trades. That’s what it’s come to for the club, even 80 days out from the league’s March 6 trade deadline.
“I’m not doing this to threaten anybody, but as (former NFL coach) Bill Parcells said, ‘You are what you are,’ and right now we’re 28th in winning percentage, so everything has to be considered and addressed.
“The way the league operates, when we were a highly functioning team, you would call teams that weren’t highly functioning and say, ‘What are you going to do?’ We’re starting to field those calls that we don’t want to field. I can’t stop people from calling, and we’re not doing our due diligence if we’re not listening.”

A re-signed Rasmus could be worth a decent package from the Sharks.
I would take Dickinson and Bystedt off their hands if they wanted. Hell throw in Bean too to replace the left shot Dickinson.

Sign and trade takes this to a place where the A+ assets (Misa, Dickinson) are still definitely not moving but a couple A/B's (Chernyshov, Musty, McKinney, Ravensbergen, 1sts) would be.

Dickinson won't happen.
If I had to guess the Untouchables from the Sharks would be Celebrini (duh), Dickinson, Misa, Smith, Musty, Eklund, and Cherynyshov.
Names I think could be available would be Bystedt, Cagnoni, Lund, Halttunen, Sahlin Wallenius, Mckinney, Wang.
