It kind of does look like from the footage of one of the secret service snipers that the would-be assassin was discovered just seconds before the shots were fired. You could see him looking in that direction then suddenly aim his rifle.
It makes me think that the would-be assassin realized he had been spotted and was forced to take a shot before he was perfectly ready.
If that bowser junior looking guy spotted him and was trying to warn people, the chances are others realized it to and the assassin noticed the attention.

I've seen some stories that people noticed the shooter and pointed them out to police, who climbed to the roof and had the gun pointed at them so they backed down. If true, the shot was probably rushed.

Which makes sense. I’ve joined parties here just to vote in leadership races. It’s just weird that it becomes public data.

You do realize he had nothing to do with surviving it or not. It has nothing to do with him. He either got clipped by a bullet or by skme glass, that is still not confirmed. If it hits him in the head, he’s dead.

So can you register as both at the same time?
I don't imagine I would register as either if I could only register for one and that information was publicly accessible.
Man, if Trump wins, I feel sorry for people registered as Democrats who work in government if that data is easy to look up.

Thankfully it didn’t - America would be at war with itself right now if it had.

No. And you can only vote in one primary. Generally speaking. Varies by state. Iirc.

So you’re saying that having more people vote, regardless of who they vote for, is a bad thing?
The damned arrogance in that is vile, not to mention undemocratic.

Don’t be a dingus. The concern is that it activates republican voters in areas where traditionally they would not win, causing what would hopefully be Democrat havens to turn red and thus allowing Trump to win the presidency. It’s not that mOrE pEoPlE VoTiNg Is BaD.

Wouldn’t a more pressing concern be that someone tries to shoot Joe Biden?
Or shoot Trump again?

Also a concern. I think retaliation of all kinds are likely. Right wingers are insane.
But we want voters turned off by Trump. Not energized by him and rallying around him.
Ideally everyone would vote…for democrats. I’m all in favour of democracy. Unfortunately the republicans are not. Them winning will ruin the USA. Moreso.

These were likely DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) hires, which are racist and sexist. Hiring people based on skin colour or gender is one of the dumbest things our society has come up with. We should hire people based on the skills, experience, and talent required for a specific job. In jobs that require a high level of safety or protection of others (i.e. police, fire, military personnel), we need the best of the best because lives are at stake. The woman Secret Service personnel did look flustered and startled, but I don't think they caused any issues with the outcome. The problem is they didn't look calm and assertive in this situation. I get that it's a high-stress situation, but you need people that can handle the stress.

Maybe that is a more pressing concern, it is entirely possible. I thought I was clear in that I was directly addressing the poster’s comment regarding the voting scenario being discussed but it seems I failed in that.
Yes sir in the grander concept of the United States political universe that could certainly be a more pressing concern. In the context of the discussion though that’s a whole ass other sentence. That’s my bad I thought that was understood.

Why are we even allowing them to vote? It's ####ing ridiculous.
A vote this important, shouldn't be left to the weaker sex.

Seems rather than the good ole radical left or antifa boogeymen who MAGA (and some jokers here) believed were responsible, this is yet another unhappy loner with an AR who shoots people to give their lives meaning and gain fame. Seems likely he would've shot up a mall or a school if Trump wasn't in town.

I am not sure if maybe the secret service of a former president is maybe less thorough than for the current president. Like, does anyone think Jimmy Carter is getting the same level of service as Biden?
